State farm is the win for all you guys.

Switched over from AAA when i got my first bike in 2005. Every insurance company would quote me 180/mo. State Farm, full coverage on all bikes is roughly $20-25 a month.

State Farm didn't have the Grom in their system a few months ago when I purchased it but did have MSX125 and that's how it's listed on my ins. card.
I think my full coverage is around 18 to 20 a month. $220 a yr here in Iowa. But here again I'm an old man with a perfect driving record and no risk to them as I ride slower than most people think.

Nope. After reading here I'm wondering wtf?
It's nearly pointless to compare insurance rates as there are many factors determining the premium not the least of is the State you have it insured in. I have two identical bikes with the same insurer in different States and pay 2 1/4 times more to insure one over the other and that with less liability coverage. Factor in your age, gender, driving record and credit score, plus the bike's garaged address, category of motorcycle and deductibles and limits and it could be all over the board. I once got quotes ranging from $283 to $3400/year for the same bike, same coverage, different insurance cos. So shop around.
BTW, a $1000 deductible on a Grom is nearly worthless. As you know, you pay the first $1000 in damages before the insurance kicks in. But a vehicle is usually considered "totaled" at 80% of current value (MSRP -depreciation). So the best you'll get reimbursed is about $1500 or less than half the cost of replacement. If the bike was worth $10k, a $1k deductible would make more sense.

I second this motion!
I pointed this same point out in another thread and someone nearly kicked me off the forum for being a jerk...but this is the truth! No point in listing premiums because even our credit scores affect our rates these days as well as our marriage status.... what a mix up the actuaries make this these days.
