So Im looking around for an exhaust for my Grom and most people recommend the yoshimura. Ive seen the zoom exhausts on both amazon or ebay and they look to be decent quality(judging by their pictures) , just want to know what you guys think of the company?

Can vouch for the competition werks exhaust. Makes the bike sound very similar to cbr500 with exhaust..great thump..makes the bike sound like it has a lot bigger engine than it does. You tube does it no justice. Id put volumes at medium to loud.. Not deafening.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I was considering buying one of those Amazon Zoom Looped

While it does have glowing reviews on Amazon, and even one or a couple Grom Tubers I've seen recommended it over the Yoshimura (due to price-performance relation), I have now read some threads (reddit etc.) that if you stick the baffler (english isn't my first language, so I assume baffler = db silencer/"killer" ??) in, you actually lose top speed compared to the stock exhaust?!?! Is that true, can anyone verify? If so, how much?

ALL your engine responds to is the length and diameter of the head tube. Mufflers are just for looks and sound. Zoom loop and Yoshimura RS 2 head tube length and diameter are physically similar so they will yield similar engine performance. :)

i have zoom loop and love it! do not put the baffle in tho it def slowed me down with it in. i would say it slowed me down about 5-10 MPH. i have the DHM tune and without the baffle in i keep up and somtimes pass my buddy who has OG grom with yoshi and commander V tune. i would just hold onto stock exhaust incase you ever wanna switch back for trails, or a wreck.

Which zoom exhaust? They have a few different ones. I have the high mount and went with this baffle without the packing and with a few extra holes drilled and I think it sounds pretty good while still having the ability to be quiet when needed. I just flipped the screw and did it from the inside out instead of outside in.
