I am on a few forums and on facebook and all i see is people talking about how slow the grom is and this or that bike is faster.. they call their bike a Grom Killer... like wtf.. nobody here bought a grom to be the FASTEST in the neighborhood.. if i wanted to go fast i would just get a bigger bike.. *shakes head* when are people gonna learn its not all about being the fastest.. hell we bomb harleys at the dragon with our 49cc ruckus scooters.. cmon now..

I don't think that most people realize that the grom is a toy. Most of the people who bought them have big bikes and cars or trucks. I know a few bought it for cheap transport but they might have been better off with a zuma 125. Hell I'm still thinkn about selling my grom to buy a zuma. I'm a little sick of shifting. But yeah I think people's expectations were very high maybe a lack of homework.

the msx cannot make the speed over than 135 km/hr due to the aero dynamic of the bike. the gear box of msx has its max speed at 145 km/hr at 11050 rpm with stock rims. event the bike has upgrade it still useless for the rest of 135 km/hr which can not acchive to 145 km/hr. it is better to say the good acceleration than top speed.

its the same as it was with the ruckus.. "why did you buy that?" "its only 49cc???" oh and then its "swap it to get more power"

if i wanted a chinese bike i would of bought a chinese bike.. i wanted a Honda..

i didnt buy either one to go fast.. in fact my ruckus is fast enough for what it is.. i honestly dont want a 1000cc bike.. i bet i would rarely ride it anyways..

You just have to have the bike in the right setting. I bought mine to keep at work - a 1200 acre (including parking lots) facility with the furthest bits of stuff that I have to work on separated by about 1.75 miles. In the context of "it beats walkin" and even "it beats driving your car all over the place" it's the perfect choice and nobody EVER asks me why I didn't buy a gixxer or something a lot faster.

I have not had any bad remarks about the Grom, only requests to ride it or questions about how I like but I also hang with the Hot Rod crowd and they loved it.
The Grom is good for adults and also for kids and I would like to know what the ratio of adults to kids is.

Hello Blue Ridge,
There will be haters with almost any thing in the motorsports world. It mostly stems from people being jelious. My other bike is a Big Red Honda GL1800 and theres haters there also. Be proud of who you are and what you ride and try to have fun. If you are happy doing what you do it really shouldnt matter what other people think. Hang in there, Im on your side.

This is America, people can say and do as they please with out hurting or killing someone. They are haters in every crowd in the world, Religion hating Religion, Gays hating Gays, bikers hating bikers, and the list goes on.

Enjoy the ride on this earth, You Only Live once, you should be more concern if you are getting laid more often than worrying about what people think.

Enjoy life everyone and ride safe.

I don't even really ride my grom all that much anymore, so maybe my comment doesn't count for much. But what's wrong with people, that it even matters what people think?

Live a good life. Being on 2 wheels is better than being stuck in a car. People making negative comments about a grom... well it's kind of sad for them that they even waste their time making negative comments.

Any hating going on might be in the way some ride their Grom's on public streets. Obey the laws, don't ride in blind spots, don't hold people up in the fast lane lol. Common sense stuff.
Harley riders are just haters - they don't even like Harley Sportsters ... I know.

As Dadoo says, 'On top of that I am having a blast finding all of the back roads around here.' ...Maybe the Groms best attribute!

Too bad for me, I busted my leg and have to wait a while to blitz the back streets again... :crying:

Maybe I am cynical but I think a lot of times when people say that stuff it is to make themselves feel better because they didn't get their deposit down in time or they just cant afford one. They need to find a reason to not like it. Easiest reason in that it is "slow" and it can not go on freeways.

Personally, I haven't ridden on a freeway in years. All the roads I hit are 45-50 mph so the Grom works just fine for me. I can buy any bike I want, it is more fun to wring the snot of of the Grom than to short shift a 1000 cc 180mph monster.

I normally work less then 8 miles away from my home and don't have to hit the freeways to get to work so there is no real reason that I need anymore bike to get there. Which isn't the real reason I bought it in the first place. I have a 2000 cr125, a 2007 cbr100rr, a 2008 dyna fatbob, and my grom. Each one of those serves a different purpose the grom like so many others have stated is my around town toy. Most people that hate something don't understand it. You don't see many Harley's out there dominating motocross hitting doubles and shit because it's not there place. I had a guy I work with toss a motorcycle magazine my way the other day with a grom review in it he said the article said it wasn't good for commuting, freeways etc. but when I tossed him the keys he had a smile on his face the whole time.
