Since you already have a rear rack installed, why not mount a small lockable box onto it? I'm sure you don't want to carry wrenches with you anytime you're off the bike anyway.

I originally thought I'd use the rack for carrying things, but it turns out what I really needed it for was to hold on to when putting the bike on the rear stand. I had previously tied a small soft pack on the rack with rok straps, but even that interfered with grabbing the rack. A box mounted on the rack would also bounce around quite a bit more than the pack resting on the well-padded Corbin seat. Although I do have my tools wrapped in a microfiber towel, I don't have to be real careful about it. There just isn't that much vibration or shifting of items when braking, thanks to that seat. I rarely park the bike and walk away from it, so I don't anticipate having to carry it often. When I take the bike in to the dealer, I swap the seat back to stock anyway, and would just unclip the pack.

I can't tell you how much better it feels to know I have all the wrenches, sockets and a socket wrench I would need for axles/handlebars on the road. As an added bonus, they're all right there when I'm working in the garage. I don't have to dig around in the toolbox for anything.
