I saw it on the FZ-09 forum and it looks like a mini FZ. I don't know if it will come to the US but I imagine it will since the GROM has been so successful. Looks like it releases in the UK in June. I want one never enough bikes in my stable.

Wow! 15ish HP will put an end to my grom. I just love honda, and I love my grom for sure. But in southwestern pa there are a LOT of hills and I always fell like I'm about to be run over. I'll deal with it, but if the Yamaha comes here I just may switch

Yamaha says wet weight of the MT-125 is 138 kg. That's 304 lbs!!! Yamaha sells street-legal 250's that weigh less than that.

With all the modern technology available why are bikes getting heavier??? Eliminating weight is free horsepower.

Agree i stated the same when i first saw it, not grom competition. 125 even though 15 hp on a full size bike booo! At the price also its more competition for a cbr300. I guess it would be a good starter bike? Just not my style, i got the grom because it made me laugh and was not a wannabe crotch rocket like this bike

Yes this is disappointing, I thought it was a mini too but a full size is more like the KTM Duke 125 so never mind still looks cool but too big and slow:(

Well it shows that honda can give us more power in a 125... 15 HP on a grom would be perfect
Honda already has a competitor to the MT-125, it's the CB125R, and it is very unlikely to come to the US, where there is no restriction to prevent a newer rider from moving to a larger displacement bike, making the 125 market more relevant as a cheap mini than anything else.

My DRZ400SM weighs 301 pounds and it has 35 hp. You asked a good question... why are most new small bikes fat pigs when it comes to weight? I have no idea. Possibly to make them "safer"? I reduced the weight of my Grom to 214 pounds. This is one of the reasons the Grom gets about double the gas mileage. With me clothes and helmet totals under 350 pounds.
