Many dealers in California are sold out of the Grom.

The ones have them left are asking $5-$6k out the door.
I laughed my ass off. There is no way in hell I am even paying $4k.
Come Christmas time...they will all be under $3500.

What it's like in your area?

6k... dang!!! they are trying to rape ya'll Cali boys! ouch. but u gotta know they have them that high because someone somewhere actually paid that much!

The dealers that quoted me $5k to $6k just shot themselves in the foot...not just on the Grom...but on all the other bikes I buy. There is nothing wrong with a great profit margin....but price goughing is wrong.
I will never go back.

In this motorcycle market, dealers cannot afford to be so short sighted.
They should be trying to keep customers coming back long term.
Instead, their goughing strategy just back fired...dipshits.

As soon as I get my grom, I will be posting pictures of my purchase on Escondido CC, North County HOM, Vey's Powersports Facebook pages and tell them where I bought it and how they won't get one cent of my money on parts or labor the rest of my life since they were trying to F their customers.

Vey's went from 3700 OTD to 5200. Go Fu.ck Yourselves.

Yep your power to protest and not buy from these California dealers will make a mark on their future sales of motorcycles. We should make a post of all the dealers in Calif or any other state and who was your sales person and state the price you were quoted good or bad. That way future buys of motorcycles can avoid these dealers and it will send a strong voice to the Honda MC company that if they want to sell their products they better wise up and give the customer fair market price or else we are taking our money to another dealer or state to get our GROM or other brand/model motorcycle.

yep the power of your money and your buying decision can make or break a company, manufacturer, store, dealer "Stealership"

The dealers should know that not only you are buying the GROM but you are also buying the riding gear, maintenance products, etc from that dealer.

That is why when I leave a dealership that I bought a motorcycle/car/truck I drive about a mile away from the dealership and the first thing I remove is the dealers lic plate holder that has the name of their dealership because I do not advertise for them for FREE.

Here are some of the places I called/visited to get quotes OTD:

Whittier Fun Center - $4900
Berts Megamall - $5000
Huntington Beach Honda - $4800
Honda Kawasaki of Santa Monica (RC was very rude to customers who weren't looking to buy a bike) - $4800
Honda of Hollywood - $4100
Temple City Power Sports - Just told me that they're sold out and will contact me when the get more.
Mountain Motorsports - $5000

Berts was the only one that had a Grom on the floor (Red) and the others had a very long list of potential buyers.

The Grom will be my first bike that I will own but $1500+ markup is just ridiculous. I will try Honda of Hollywood and Temple City Power Sports again, once all dealers get more inventory but the others that did give me a high quote will be off my list completely.

East Coast:

Just spoke with Honda Powersports dealer. Pretty large dealership. They sold one which had a deposit and had received two.

They're listing it on ebay. It's a bidding game now.

The story says, "It doesn't look like we'll be getting too many in."

So, the game in supply/demand marketing will be played out to maximize value.

I actually found out what dealer cost is today on the grom. #2716 . That's a terrible profit margin.. I get the additional mark up. I just don't understand how Honda could think wouldn't sell. There a world production so they have to supply a lot.. Remember with California there's 30 million people so demand is high. If u had one grom and 20 people calling a day would u sell it for a 300 deal. I wouldn't . I would if I had 30 of em. I'm a diesel truck dealer.. I have a few groms, I got a good deal on 1 of them. And paid 4200 for the others.. For me waiting till December or January is just to long. California ads 2000 freight and set up on r6s and r1s...... Life is short if u grom or any mc makes u happy. Then buy it,,, the price isn't everything.
