I live in NY and the state registrations include the color of the vehicle. My grom started off red but I immediately changed to white plastics. Is it really necessary to change that info on the reggy? Anyone from NY have Experience doing this? How would you go about changing that information? Will the cops ticket me for incorrect info on the reggy? Thanks.

If you have a drivers license and you had long hair and that was the picture you took when you received your license and you cut all your hair off or if you were a 120 lbs when you took your license picture and gained say 200 lbs with in a year or if you had blond hair and you decide to color it black would your State DMV require you to update your license. I don't think so.

Most STATES in the USA go by the Vin number and the license plate number.

hope this helps

Also if a cop runs your plates, registration comes up as a red bike, you have a white bike that you're currently on, they may pull you over thinking it's a stolen bike that's been repainted.

It might just save you a possible haggle in the future. I wonder if you can just go into an AAA office if you have it and do it there.

VIN is the offical ID for vehicle, it is stamped on the FRAME and ENGINE, color don't matter. LOOK on your DOT issued paper it does not state color only VIN and STATE issued LICENSE number.

It is the same with Drivers license if you change your HAIR color from Blonde to Black or Pink all they care about is your face, birth date.

I had a situation like this. My Z was originally orange, now it's green, I never changed the reg or title. I got pulled over for scooting through a red light last summer. The cop obviously noticed since he asked where the VIN on the bike was and checked it. It obviously still matched and he didn't say anything more about it, and didn't write me any tickets.

It actually does state the color of the vehicle. Even motocross bikes/ quads have the color on the NYS Registration. I was just curious if something like that MIGHT get me a ticket. It seems I don't need to worry. Thanks guys.
