Is it safe to keep it under the seat in a ziplock bag? I'm just worried if the battery terminals might melt the plastic ziplock. Don't wanna carry that around with me all the time.
The terminals will not melt the plastic baggie. If the baggie touches them it will not conduct electricity and will not short out. If something else touches the terminals and shorts out your battery you have problems bigger than a baggie.
Thanks guys. I guess most of you guys just fold up the registration paper. I went and laminated mine, which is the size of an envelope. Oh well under the seat it goes!
Here in MS your tag is your registration. They dont ask for separate paperwork. But we are required to have an inspection sticker. It isnt required to be visible here, so I plan to laminate it along with my insurance card to keep under the seat.
In Virginia, you have stickers for your license plate, that come with a corresponding card/document, with the details of your vehicle's registration data. You also have an inspection sticker, with another supporting document, that details the state of all items inspected, along with your vehicle details. You also have to carry proof of insurance. All three documents have to be kept with the vehicle, and presented, upon request, by law enforcement officials. I used to keep mine under my seat, but have since moved it to the topbox, where it's much easier to get to, since I seem to have a penchant for coming across police checkpoints, where they want to verify such things.
