I just had Michelin Power Pures SC put on my Grom and the motorcycle shop could not balance the wheels because the axle/spindle hole was too small. I called two other shops and went to Cycle Gear and they could not balance the wheels either because of the same reason. Do these wheels need to be balanced? There were no weights on the wheels from the factory. Has anyone ever had their wheels balanced? I did a quick ride around with the new tires up to 50 mph and it seems to be ok.

That's pretty much how the guys from Bridgestone do it for MotoGP. They've got a little nicer stand than a pair of jackstands, but they're definitely hand balancing them. I asked about it last year and the guy in the garage said he'd been doing it that way for 30+ years, he was pretty good at it, and it was a LOT faster than using a machine.

Exactly, one of our guys would helps a couple of tire vendors M&B at WERA events before and after his races and nothing but rows of Static balancers on the tables. It's also what we use here also.

Axle and jack stands are same concept, for sure.

It's easy to balance your tires with weights per the pictures shown. I don't know if it's needed or not for scooters. But I felt good doing mine. And it was not worth the price that the tire shop was going to charge me.
