Just wondering what oil everyone is using in their grom? I'm at 70 miles about to do my first oil change .

10 w 40 is the universal grade /weight for mototcycles in hotter climate use 20w50. Ill be using amsoil sythetic its 12 bucks a quart but you only need 1 quart anyway
For first couple of oil changes, use any conventional 10w-30, as long as it has the code "JASO MA" on the back. The MA standard lets you know it is proper and safe to use with the Grom's wet clutch. At 500 miles, switch to 100% synthetic, JASO-MA stamped.
No to 20-50! Just talked to honda rep. Run the new 10-30 ill give run down in a bit. But run there new gn4 10-30.
I just bought 2 quarts of this. I'm a sucker for OEM Honda products so I assume they know what's up.

Anyone going to use Rotella T6 5w-40? I thought I had seen a lot of people like to use it on their bikes but I just want to make sure before I do the swap!

Owners manual says 10w-30. Why not go with that?
Meh just heard good things about this T6. I mean if I shouldn't use it, I will go grab something else. It was only about $6.

But wouldn't any synthetic give the same results in the heat?

The great oil debate.... It my honda 70 I run anything I have not mc specific. Usually 10/30 or 10/40. In my old gsxr race bike I ran rotella 5/40 synthetic for diesels and never had issues its got 28,xxx miles on it and 15,xxx track miles. Was told it would allow it to rev quicker cuz of oil weight? True or not I don't know? In my new zx6 race bike I use amsoil synthetic for mc of course... In the pit bike forums I read not to use synthetic... Don't know why tho?

Yeah I know bigger bike guys love the T6 so I figured it would be the same with the Grom. Just want some solid confirmation before I drain and pour. :)

I mean I know it is lighter weight but also is JASO MA haha

This is what I'm doing too.
You can use any oil rated SG or better as long as it's not energy conserving. Straight from the owners and shop manuals.
I just did my oil at 114 miles with Motul 3000 10W40. I bought 2 quarts and 2 OEM washers(90407-259-000) so I'll do another in 100 miles then just go by the factory specs from there.
