Hey folks what engine oil are you guys using and are you taking the bike back to Honda for servicing so that it doesn't invalidate 2 year warranty?

I am looking at getting Castrol Power1 4T - 10w 30 PS 1ltr Oil for its 1st service at 600 miles.

Doing your own maintenance won't invalidate your warranty. If they try to the must describe how you caused the problem.

Oil is probably the biggest debated subject in the motorcycle industry for decades.
We know guys that strictly run just the Manufacturers oil, then others run motorcycle specific aftermarket brands ( Motul, Silkolene etc) and others run Rotella or Valvoline.

Tons of reports, reviews and debates on it, so no real " cut and dry" answer and just like Opinions... everyone has one and they are all different

Honda GN4 10w30 dino oil changed every 750-1k miles, since mile 0.

I'm using Honda GN4 10w30 right now. Just like Hard Racing said this is a very debatable subject. If you stick with motorcycle specific oil close to the recommended viscosity, which is 10w30, there should be no problems and it may come down to what's easily available to you and cost effective. I would change it a little more often than recommended in the manual though.

I can't think of a modern engine that would be less sensitive to oil choice than this thing.

I use synthetic only because it's highly available and cheap enough. If the oil capacity were higher I'd stick with dino to save a few bucks.

Easy... The best oil is oil that gets changed regularly.

My clutch has been rendered useless but my exhaust smells like a F-18 Super Hornet in afterburner. :wink:
