Well its been a little while since I've posted anything and want to start by saying thank you to MNNTHBX for starting the donation/raffle! That was a super classy thing to do. I also want to thank everyone who donated. Trust me, every bit helps. I had a benefit dinner last week that took a ton of my time and energy. It turned out great over 400 people attented! 50 baskets were donated for the Chinese auction and we had a "celebration of life" until 2am! To bad it wasn't me that drank all that beer! I've been fighting with my blood counts. They have been bouncing all over. But, 2 days after the benefit they came back up. The many one they watch is called a tumor marker. When I started chemo it was a 79. It was an 8 this past wednesday! Man, that was great news! I still have a long fight. Sometime in the next 2 weeks I will be getting a PET scan to actually see what's going on. I Invite everyone to follow me on facebook. Shelby kostelac is my name and there is my personal page and a support page. Please feel free to request either one.
The grom community has been there for me and so you all know i will do anything in my power to help any of you out anytime.Thank you all for your donations and prayer.
PS. My grom is almost back to riding condition after my buddy wrecked it over a month ago. Its a "little" different now. Once my stock rearset comes in it will be done and Ill post some pics. Thank goodness he values my friendship and hooked me up!

Thanks! And I didn't forget about you. All my other blood work will go up and down. I get a shot every two weeks to try to stop the swing and it is miserable. It activates my bone marrow to produce more blood and it makes the big bones (hips, legs, shoulders etc.) Hurt bad. I may even at times need transfusions but as long as the marker stays down the chemo is working. This was an eye opening experience the whole way around. Even tho I'm 36, no age should have to deal with this... young or old. It's just a shame that the food we eat, air we breath and busy lifestyles we live don't allow the normal body to get the right foods and rest. I just can't say thank you enough for all the support I've received at home and on here. It's really overwhelming and has brought tears to my eyes more than once.

Well it's been a while since I gave everyone an update on me. I am friends with some of you of facebook, but for those of you I'm not.. here it is

I've had a pretty hard time with chemo. Really sick, and not enjoying this summer at all. It not like me to sit still, but I so easily over heat. I had the stints removed 3 weeks ago. All tests are showing no real change either way, not growing but minimal shrinking! Thought that was good news, not spreading seems good to me. But friday I got the call that instead of trying to shrink it to cut out the left half of my bile duct and liver, now I will be going to the mayo clinic to talk to them about a transplant.. it sounds good, it would remove all the cancer... but when I was diagnosed that was the first thing I asked and they said they wouldn't be able to do it, so know I'm confused. I'll know more wednesday.

Thanks to all who keep me in their prayers and I can't wait to recover and get another grom. Im so disappointed I had to sell mine, but it can and will be replaced.

UPDATE:

The past few months have been a little crazy. I finished chemo in pittsburgh. The cancer was stable but that did have my doctors there concerned. She sent me to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Ive been here since last tuesday and its looking like Ill be here for about a month. The end result.... I am on the liver transplant list. Its exciting and terrifying at the same time. My caregiver with me is my mom, no one else could take off work. She is leaving saturday and the next month i will be alone here in rochester....

Thank you to the people that are friends with me and follow and always send thoughts and prayers. If anyone is interested in following my progress request me on Facebook... search shelby kostelac, that should find me
