Friday night I installed a UNI air filter directly on the TB and completely removed the stock air box. At first there was a hesitation but now it seems to be running great. I have about 30 miles on it this way. I can't really tell if I gained power or not. I will say this little sucker is loud, so it feels faster due to that anyway, it's rather deceiving. The install was smooth. I just unbolted the airbox and tossed it aside. Then stuck a cheap breather filter on the crankcase breather hose. I bent a cable bracket around instead of cutting it off incase I want to return to stock again. The filter went on without a problem. When I was installing the right hand shroud it kind of rubs on the filter. Looks off to have a red ball of foam stuffed against the shroud. I need to look it over and see if I can turn it so it doesn't look so out of place. I'll get some pics when I get a chance and it's not so freaking cold out. Anyone else go this route? Looked like its stuffed in there all funny? I'm worried it will wear through the foam how I have it... I have stock exhaust by the way, so wasn't expecting a huge gain.

Where did you put/mount the Air Temperature Sensor?

I've done the same thing. It seems be running pretty good, slightly noticeable difference in the low end since it doesn't take as long for fresh air to get in the TB.
I probably have about 150 miles on mine like this.

Does it look like your filter is jammed somewhere it shouldn't be? It didn't wear through the foam being right up against the fairing?

Did the same as well. All stock with a uni filter straight to the throttle body hose. I have a huge hill to get to my neighbor hood and I could only do 43 up it with the airbox stock. Now I do 46 up the hill with only the uni filter mod! Definatly a plus in low and mid range power!

Good to hear! Did you remove the red pre-filter? Any pics of the install?

It is visible but I don't think it's that bad. Did rotate it to show the least possible. Also I put the sensor between the gray and red filters. Fits snug and should get a very accurate reading.

Uni filter is nice, and you can find it at cycle gear..also make sure you oil it before use..

The way I have it turned now you have to pretty much get on your knees to see it. I like it. Its way loud though.

Mines on..... But have only got to ride a total of like 10-15 miles on it as it's been raining the last two nights. Looks better IMO
