i already had a bose soundlink, but i was looking for something smaller. i use to use two adjustable ties down to secure it to the rear of my seat against the top case.

it is plenty loud but becuase it was behind me, i could barely hear going faster than 40mph.

i saw the boom, and read reviews. i was going to try the bose mini soundlink, but reviews said it was loud enough and the battery life was only 6-7 hours.

once i got the ue boom, i found a very unexpected suprise! it has a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom!!!

that made it extremely easy to mount to my handle bars!!!!

total cost for ram mounts is about $40-$45!

it is very lightweight so it doesnt affect steering, and it has a 15 hours battery life. it also uses a standard micro usb port to charge it battery!!!

Why not use a bluetooth headset inside your helmet?
i never could find out which in helmet set worked well at an affordable price. The sets i found where $150-$300! Once I spent that amount, would it fit my helmet?

And there isn't much of a selection of used helmet BT on craigslist. The UE Boom i bought MSRP is $200, but i was able to buy it for $100! The seller had box, manual, and even gave me the receipt!

I have a pair of Sena SMH-10s on my helmets and I love them. You can link 4 together in a conference, speak to only 1 person if you wish, use navigation, use your phone all using vocal commands and one button and a knob. I have boom mics on mine and they work really well at cancelling unwanted noise. The only time I ever had an issue was when I would commute on my '09 CBR at "slightly-higher-than-RECOMMENDED" speeds- the wind generated inside the helmet became too much for the microphone and noise cancelling system to compensate for. On the Grom I can't go fast enough to create any such issues :-D I love them though. And they have a life of 10 hours of constant use. They come with a wall charger as well as a 12-volt charger. Check 'em out if you're interested.
