so maybe i'm a C/F snob since my last bike was an Aprilila Tuono Factory that had every piece of C/F made for it, by aprilia and aprila priced.

but not really super impressed w/ tyga's C/F stuff.

very thin, almost all the pieces are tape on and i'm not sure why they gooped on stuff on the backside.

if you bought the stuff lastyear you might be a little more impressed.
the stuff was about HALF price.. and quality to price ratio was amazing.
Now as the price gets higher and higher the quality level needs to keep up with that.

last year you could buy everything carbon they offered like 12 parts for under $700 shipped.. now just the rear fender is like $200 lol.

Thanks for the comments. we will try to do our best on the quality and want to provide good quality products at affordable prices. it is a difficult balance but we'll contine to improve on quality and keep prices from increasing.

Cut outs etc should be correct and we will try to improve the trimming so that that is the case. we get a lot more favourable than negative comments but rest assured, i for one am never satisfied and always push our guys to improve.

On the thinness, sorry, I make no apologies for our carbon being thin, as that is the prime objective, to make it as thin and light as possible especially as the parts which are stick on. Now, we did receive feedback that people wanted replacement parts rather than stick on ones and we have taken this on board. At the beginning the market was new and we had no idea you guys would be willing and capable of pulling your bike to pieces. Like the tank shrouds, we used to offer just the stick on ones because we thought oweners would be reluctant to pull a perfectly good bike apart. How wrong we were LOL so now offer two types of replacement types. Also, in our defense, our range mostly covers replacement parts not stick on ones nowadays, it is just you ordered the ones which are stick on in our range! We could produce replacement parts for the tank cover and the lower tank but the parts are quite complex to reproduce in carbon due to the many small fixing points. Unlike the Aprilia you mention, which was designed to have carbon parts, the Grom designers never took that aspect on board. Ducati parts are much easier to make in carbon for the same reason. The instrument surround is not going to be replacement unless we can source a load of lenses to glue in so there's not much we can do about that I am afraid. The headlight shroud is replacement (and not easy to make I should add because it is a tube effectively) and the windshield is a glue on part because it is a component that the OE bike doesn't have so again I am not sure what we could have done differently. Other than double sided, I am open to suggestions on how we could attach this to the instrument cluster but it seems a neat an elegant solution to the issue.

As for the inside not being that pretty, i accept that but remember mostly our parts are vacuum bagged and the inside is like that given the process due to the bag and pressure plates etc. We concentrate on the outside of the part aesthetically which is what really counts when it is installed on the bike. I mean, ever inspected the inside of injected plastic parts? it doesn't look very pretty on the inside either with ribs, overspray deburring marks and codes stamped all over the place. I wouldn't see any reason to pick fault in the original plastic despite that because it is not seen once installed on the bike and the same applies for our parts. Ok, it is nice to get that wow factor when you take something out the wrapping, point taken, but like I say, carbon vacuum bagging requires some pressure plates and there will always be some rough finish on the inside as a result.

On prices in general, we have no plans to increase them further and with more dealers carrying our products, the shipping costs will come down so the overall cost should come down.

Like I say, I take the comments on board and will do our best to improve but I just wanted to explain things so thanks for that. All comments and suggestions are welcome and we thank this forum for their support. We have a lot more products in the pipeline and look forward to some of the ideas for future projects coming from this forum and other Grom owners so please do let us know.

more obvious in person and people have commented on it. i guess i've gotten used to it. however, if your one to make things right, i'm all for it.

btw, on the headlight shroud, it may be good to reinforce the bottom that secures the bolt to aim the headlight. i foresaw a stress crack forming as it's very thin. i added a layer of fiberglass to mine as i didn't' want to take a chance.

I have the CF headlight cowl, CF front fender, CF tank cover and CF side shrouds. The only part I am truly disappointed with are the side shrouds. They are just plain NOT shaped right and leave a gap between the plastic shrouds and the CF. I'll try to get picture later

Sorry, not trying to be negative but don't shit in an Easter basket and tell me it's chocolate. I mean, this is hard earned cash were spending. Ok, the underneath isn't perfect, whatever, you don't see it but the diameter of the hole isn't even lined up or round. Better quality control is needed. If Tyga's response is "low price" then they should also tell you "look, for the cost of it it's basically shitty and won't line up properly

I am not saying that at all, we are very proud of our products and service and 15 years experience would support that this is the case. Feel free to google us the overwhelming majority is very favourable. The fact I am posting here at all would indicate that we take these things seriously.

I agree that the tank cover in question is below acceptable but it is up to the individual to make a claim. The vast majority of orders go smoothly and we receive a lot more mails expressing that our products exceeded their expectations than mails where people were disappointed. Despite our best efforts though, occasionally something will slip through and if it does, please inform us right away and we will do our best to put things right. If someone thinks they have a valid claim then please read our shipping and returns page and then follow the instructions which are basically to let us know immediately by email with photos showing us the issue and we will do our best to resolve things. I'll be happy to replace defective parts or giving discount or whatever is the best way to find a solution. We are quite flexible. (much more than the website would have you believe because happy customers make returning customers :))

if pwr2wt8 is not satisfied with the tank cover and wants to make a claim (even though it has already been installed etc we can bend the rules) please send me a PM or email and we will do our best to find a solution. Frankly, I'd be happier if he did. By posting here, I am sure he was just sharing his experience and maybe too timid to approach us directly but really that is the best way in order to get things resolved in cases like this.

^thats cool. The only thing I disagree with is up to the customer to make a claim. To/from Thailand shipping isn't cheap or a quick turnaround. How could he know the diameter of the circle wasn't proper without installing it? If it's quickly placed on a shroud at your shop loosely, it could save some time and quality control. I think you do the Grom community a great service

Seems to me that you can achieve the same look for pennies on the dollar with the faux carbon vinyl wrap that is sold by a forum member. It's not like the Grom benefits from the high dollar high speed/low drag components anyway. I can achieve the same weight savings by forgoing an extra bean burrito at Taco Bell. Wrap that shit in carbon fibre vinyl and call it a day. Spend the extra cash on burritos. Put a TYGA sticker on it and BOOM!

Customer service in Asia is a crap shoot. Always a roll of the dice. And if there's an issue you're often stuck with the product or a lengthy dispute process. In the case of the not quite perfectly circle circle, you're just gonna have to live with it. Nobody will notice it but you, but that's enough to drive you mad. At which point the only option is to fly to Thailand and seek revenge.

In summary, vinyl is cheap. Carbon fiber will drive you to the poor house and possibly the nut house.
