It doesn't take long at all. usually i do like one warm up lap maybe even a 2nd just to make sure that I'm good to go.Ah, yes! I forgot about this tire brand. Thanks for posting. Although, I have never personally seen a set. If not using tire warmers, how many laps or long does it take to heat the tires up to turn some fast / hard laps?
With the PMT Medium slicks i run 17.5 lbs rear and 18.5 lbs front. Those are warm pressures. Ill run a few laps get the tires heated up then dial my pressure in. I'm too cheap to get warmers.I've got an Ohlins kit in the front and an Ohlins shock on the rear, sprung for my weight. The issue was probably with the tire pressures I was running.
Ive tried all types of pressures. Lower and higher than what I'm running. Ive found the 18.5/17.5 psi warm works out the best for me.18lbs? Is that due to the way slicks are designed, or do you run DOT tires that low too? I was pleased and certainly getting some heat in the tire at 29psi front and rear, but I plan on going down in the front for next time.
BJS, what pressure were you running? Have you tried them again at a different pressure?
What does everyone like for rain tires? The PMT rains look pretty pricey for my budget mini...
