Hi,

I wanted to know if anyone can help with my issue for my grom.

The problem is I installed the honda mini pro taper bars fine but when reconnecting the throttle side to the handle bar after I start to tighten it, when turning the throttle it becomes very hard. Its fine if I tighten it outside the bars its smooth but once I tighten it on the bars I get that issue.

I seen so many people use those bars thats why I bought it.

So I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem as well.

I'm using the same bar clamps and they work fine.

Should be fine. Same bars I have without issue.

Are you hung up on the end? Too far left will make bar rub on end of grip. Is the grip on?

Did you drill a hole for clamp? Or remove nub that goes into hole?

Those shouldn't matter really, but something is off, and you have to backtrack starting from somewhere,

I left the nub on. Am I suppose to use the bar ends from the stocked handlebars and put it on the honda mini?

Na, you don't need the bar ends. Are the stock grips still on? Or new grips?

There stocked. I took it to a mechanic to put them on. He used the stock grips. If there installed loose its fine then as soon as he tightens it gets hard to rev. He told me it could be the handlebars but Ive seen so many people have those bars with no issue. Lol Still trying to figure out what I can do. I dont want to go back to the stock handle bars lol

pull off the throttle and put it back on. no idea whats going on but thats the bars I have and had no issues

Sounds like your grip is hitting the end of the bar. Loosen and move right 1/8" of an inch.

Make sure the part where the throttle cables are attached to the tube is sitting in the right location, almost sounds like when you've got it on the bar they'r eout of place so when tightening down it's tightening onto the actual throttle cable part.
Not sure if that made sense but hopefully it did.

Made perfect since, and this could be it also. Make sure the cable is in the channel.

If the nub is still on and you didn't drill a hole for it tightening it down will cause the throttle to go out of shape and make it hard to turn.

It might be as simple as pushing the throttle cables down into the bike to relieve the slack added at the top by having a shorter set of bars. While I didn't put on honda minis, I put on a set of bars with a shorter height and noticed that if I twisted the throttle and let go, it wouldn't move back to closed when before it would snap back to no throttle. The shorter bars create a sharper curve the cables have in moving from the bars down to the throttle body. All I had to do was tuck it in a little to disperse the slack more evenly and it works just fine.

Thanks Juls This was what I found out from other people saying the same thing. I will try this.
