Has anybody found a tank bag that would work for us yet? These new plastic tank covers won't let us simply throw a magnetic bag on like my older bikes did. I had an '09 CBR600RR and I glued pieces of steel under the gas tank cover and it allowed me to use my tank bag/hydration bladder/backpack unit on it and just peel it off when I left the bike. I haven't taken any of the body apart yet, so I don't know if the same thing can work for the Grom. They do make tank bags for bikes with plastic tank covers (suction cups or straps with clips that quickly detach, but leave the straps on the bike), I was just hoping somebody has found something that works for us. Thanks, everybody.

I use an Oakley Kitchen Sink on my back, I was hoping for something mounted to the front for more storage, or to hold things like my wallet, phone, a bottle of water, and a few other small items without having to actually carry it. I loved the Rapid Transit unit I had, but like I said before, magnets just won't work here. I have been looking for about a week now, and there isn't anything that grabs my attention. The thing that really annoys me is that in NC we had large bike shops with several options for everything. You could just take an item off the wall or shelf, walk out to your bike and try it, then pay for it if you wanted it. Here in Ohio we really only have Iron Pony, and they're quite a drive away from me. I wish we had more accessory shops that had inventory. I don't like ordering stuff like this from a catalog without trying it first. The search continues...

I like you idea about gluing some metal under the plastic tank pieces, that might work.

Way Off Topic
NC vs Ohio - or anywhere else for that matter City vs Country. My adult daughter talks about moving away all the time, up to Oregon and into the country. My wife wants to follow her. I REALLY like being one mile from a small hardware store and I can drive five miles one way to hit a Honda/Yamaha dealer or five the other way to hit a Honda dealer. Movies are close, stores are close. I've spent time in the country and for me it sucks when a simple home repair requires a one hour drive to the hardware store and then an hour back.

I'm using a 511 Rush 12 pack that has a puch for a hydration bladder right now. I also have the luggage rack, but still looking for a tial bag. I'm stuck between the Givi roll bag and the kriega system.

There was someone here I think shoebacca that found a small tank bag but it would only fit a small phone, nothing bigger than an iphone 4s

I think this might be a winner with the OE luggage rack

I am considering pulling the trigger on this one, for $50 to my door, it seems like it's worth the gamble. It also includes straps AND MAGNETS for mounting options.

TOUR MASTER - CORTECH MICRO TANK BAG at Iron Pony
Someone else posted that up on this forum. Looked legit so I looked at it in person at the dealer. Really small. Too small for me. And too limited. My little backsack is more versatile for me. But that Cortech Micro looks cool and if it works for what you want to carry that is all that matters.
