Hey all, enjoying my new Grom (Taiwanese for money pit :big smile:) and of course I have to farkle it. I have the usual goodies coming in (pipe, pegs & FE) and I have been eying swingarms.
Who are dependable sources for these? I want an unbraced swingarm, probably in silver, but I have seen advertised a Ti finished (brownish?) one that sounds interesting.
The site also had a opened up throttle body.
Its a funky site I found on google images searching endlessly for trickness. Bonanza is the name, out of Taiwan of course.
Any experiences here?
Thanks

Thanks gentlemenn - I'll study them up.
I have shipped motorcycle goods from the UK, Italy and Australia in the past with decent shipping costs and delivered in good time.
We'll see how it goes this time around. I swear some people make profit on the shipping end also...

I remember seeing one in the last few weeks somewhere with actual bearings in the pivot and not rubber bushings. Anyone know which one(s) have bearings and not bushings?
The OVER brand, from japan.webike.net has the swingarms with pivot bearings that I saw previously. For those with more knowledge than I, the rubber pivot bushings are going to introduce way more flex in the rear than the actual swingarm itself, right? Aside from cosmetics or slight weight savings, there is no real improvement in handling with these other aftermarket swingarms, right?

Ya if stock has bearings, there is no way I would be happy with rubber pivot bushings. No reason to introduce wobble carving the high speed sweepers!
Thanks for the heads up on that - so far my first contact with a supplier has resulted in no reply in 3-4 days...

If I'm not mistaken, the stock swingarm also has rubber bushings. I was just getting ready to begin a journey down the endless suspension road, starting with the front end. Of course, I also wanted to do something about the rear, but it seemed pointless to get a nice shock if the rear swingarm is on rubber bushings. And yes, I totally realize I am trying to take the Grom beyond its intended purpose. I can live with the lack of power, but I would like it to handle a little more like a sport bike.

Ahhh, so the stock swingarm has the rubber bushings then?? I am just learning here...
Nothing wrong with tricking out the little Grom! I intend to also. An aftermarket shock can only help if its correct for the bike/rider.

Guys,
Brian S here, I'm the guy with the Japanese needle bearings for the swingarms. I attached a few photo's, I took off my aluminum swingarm, and replaced it with a chrome powder coated Honda swingarm. Both of the swingarms have my needle bearing kit in them. The needle bearing kit is not cheap, the bearings & hardened spacers from Japan are pricey, $195.00 installed, plus shipping.
The conversion does make a big difference in the handling. There is no reason to buy an expensive shock without doing it.

Brian for the money I might rather PC my stock swing arm and have you do your bearing magic.
