Exactly what he said, mushy factory rubber, its what covers the allen head bolts to remove the clamp holding the bars.

The factory bar clamp it attached with two bolts that go through the top steering triple clamp. The factory ones 'dampen' vibrations and also make steering a little mushy. These stiffen it right up and like he said give more precise feeling. If I didn't already buy kitaco ones I'd be all over these.
