Has anyone played with shortening the wheel base a bit? Maybe a combination of a larger rear sprocket and / or removing a link in the chain to run the rear axle as far forward as possible?

I did. I changed the rear sprockets. With the big rear it was short, with the 14t front it's long. I can't tell a difference. Shit the wheel base is so short anyway.
That is what I was looking for. I was noticing that I could go about 1/2" shorter on the wheelbase and was wondering if it would make a difference, make the front end feel noticeably lighter or make the bike twitchy.

Thanks

I was wondering about the availability of a shorter swingarm just the other day. Something short enough that it would let you get your weight behind the axle. Like a fiddy...

It would likely destroy the handling and what stability the Grom has at 55+, but it would be fun as hell for whoolies.
