I want to have a custom rear shock built soon so I need to do this and send it out for testing. The bottom mount looks easy enough but the top is completely buried in plastic. What has to come apart? I get back spasms easily. Just lying down on the ground is uncomfortable. I cant spend much time there. If someone could go over what needs to come off it would be very helpful.

Any hints also appreciated!

Upper:
Pull seat off.

Pull left side tank plastics off.

Use 14mm socket on 3/8" ratchet with 6" extension on upper shock bolt.
Nut is 17mm.


Lower:
Remove 5mm socket head cap screws from chain guard/swingarm mudflap.

Remove chain guard/swingarm mudflap.

Bolt is 14mm head.
Nut is 17mm.
