I ordered some black reflective rim tape from the UK and I have to say I'm disappointed. Maybe I should have done another color - white or silver. But I don't think putting the rim tape on is it worth in the end - at least for me. At the side view I hardly notice the wheels and really only see the reflectors that came with the Grom.

I was hoping it would be more like the pictures as advertised and more like my bicycle tires I have which reflect amazingly well. These bike tires come with a reflective sidewall. For reference...

Again, maybe it was partly a bad idea to get black rim tape? I'm pretty bummed.

Ive actually had a problen like this before, except in orange. Bottom pic looks really good, I wouldve bought the same. Tell them to send you a different color.

Go to any ship chandler, or West Marine if you have to, and get some 3M SOLAS tape (Safety Of Life At Sea, FYI). I have it on my GS's saddlebags, and it more than does the job. Brightest stuff out there and is meant for lifeboats and lifebuoys and the like...

Black reflective vinyl is known to have issues... but 3m have nailed it for sure.. my dad has some black reflective 3m tape on his fjr1300 and its as bright as all the other colours

Thanks for posting. Think I just got a bum deal. Not worth it to ask for better tape from the seller in uk. But maybe I'll keep shopping for a better us dealer.

If you have recommendations on good sellers, I might try again in a month or two.

I guess I need to ask for the 3m sticky stuff...
