I was searching Ebay today and I was almost shocked to see that Track n Trail in State College, Pa. has a red Grom up for bids. I mean, in a large community such as that, which includes Penn State University, how could a dealership not have a depositor for this bike? I have dealt with them in the past with good results and they were my backup plan in the event some rare extraordinary circumstance would have arisen with my friendly neighborhood Honda dealer. I am now beginning to believe that Honda's strategy of limited availability of the Grom is paying off for them, as a very small percentage of riders are totally lusting after the Grom, but the vast majority are just totally uninterested/unaware of these awesome little machines. Go figure.

They had two, one sold with a deposit.

unfortunately, they saw the california high bids and decided they weren't interested in selling it, instead listing it on ebay.

Asked about it one day before it posted.

it's already overpriced and greed may simply kill the little grommy grom, so sad.

i am pretty sure if you walked in to buy it today, they would sell it to you.
If I wasn't buying a house, and had $3000 to burn, I would be driving the 2-1/2 hours to get it right now :)

who knows?

they're really only worth about 2200 max.
front suspension sux bad, bottoms out with a rider on the bike basically
can barely keep it at 50 mph up hill and there's plenty to deal with

i was still interested, but meh.

Sounds like they are trying to exploit the scarcity of the Grom. You don't like it, don't do business with them. Doesn't sound like a place I would want to shop. I do however own a Grom and I can tell you, it was worth the money I paid for it. And that is coming from someone who has never owned a scooter or a motorcycle less than 500cc. It actually has me thinking of selling my SV1000S.

My biggest concern is the front forks and bottoming out.
I have to ride a few harsh bumps and it has to take it.

My second biggest concern is a lack of power.
I won't know till I take one up a hill.

I guess I'm still disappointed by my dealership experience.

I am 200 pounds and bumps aren't that bad. And I have ridden two up quite a bit. But suspension is a pretty easy fix if it bothers you. But all that is irrelevant until you can find one to buy.
