I recently just bought a Grom with 2,900 miles on her. It appears the previous driver liked to lean hard into turns. With that said, I almost took a digger today going around a bend (which I did not lean into aggressively and was not going fast). I have attached a picture of the rear tire for reference. If so I will go with the Pilot Power Pure. As always thanks!!

while the pilot pure is definitely a better tire than the stock vee's, they will not guarantee you will not go down on a bend. in my opinion, skill will trump over better tires for most riders. try to recall what you may have done wrong to almost cause you go to down, it could even have been debris on the road.

btw, i refer to skill because i know a good number of riders who run hard in the canyons and track while still on vee's. they use more tire than what you have pictured.

I had a lot of front and rear end slides on my Vee rubbers. All my slips happened around the same tyre usage (10mm from edge), knee down so no biggy. I contribute my rear slides to A)shit rubber, B)pushing the front with soft factory springs and unloading the rear.

They are shit rubber but, if your issue happened at that with that inch or so new chicken strip - Not to sound like a wanker, but as above I'd look at rider skill and tyre pressure. Also you are better off having the rear slip and slide then the front. If you upgrade the rear tyre get a matching front.

Haha, just re-read this. Was posted before my morning coffee. Underlined part is meant to say "if that happened at an angle indicated by the newer looking chicken strip with over 1" to go, then i'd be looking at skill and tyre pressures.
