Hi... I am a new rider, considering the Grom as a scooter alternative for hilly Los Angeles (no freeways, just local streets between the Sepulveda Pass on the north and maybe Marina Del Rey on the south). Wondering how it will do on canyon roads, Mulholland, Hollywood hills, possibly PCH. I am 5'3" and 113 lbs. Would like to hear from someone who rides in this area, and find out whether they have any problem keeping up with car traffic.

I have yet to see a Grom on the street and am wondering if that's because most people want either a bike or a scooter but not the in-between, or is there some sort of limited availability problem since they're still new. I was at Hollywood Honda yesterday and did not see any on the lot, although I didn't ask either.

I would do the mods your self if you can.. Because they (stealership) will charge to much.. With a basic tool set you can tackle all top 3 mods...

top 3 mods
14t front sprocket $10. very simple install....best bang for the money.... will increase top speed and acceleration noticeably...speed will read 3 mph higher that actual speed but no big deal.....
intake mods..... there are a few you will have to search this forum and see which you want to do...
exhaust ----many choices , pick the one you like, all will be similar performance gains....
