I am looking to fix my grom up in the next month for the summer, and I would like to change my air box/filter. Yet I am completely new to the world of motorcycles and to doing some mechanical work. After doing some looking I noticed people talking about rods, and this and that.

Is upgrading my air filter as easy as buying a new filter and putting it in, or is there other steps that I am missing that go into this upgrade? Thank you!

Check out DHM‘s stock air box mod kit:

includes Hurricane Race filter , koso intake tube, and adapter for the tb.

I highly recommend.

May want to look into a tune also.
