The quality of these sliders are fantastic! Over Racing did an amazing job of both the design/engineering as well as the packaging in which they arrived. They were a little pricey but with JDM goodies its worth every penny.

I was attracted to the Over racing units simply due to the fact that they mount through the frame and not only to the Engine covers like many other units.

Even though the instructions are in japanese, i was able to figure it pretty easily.

I havent dropped my bike yet so i cant attest to if they actually work.

I got them from racefarm; Use the link below.

GROM Engine Accessories

It looks like they only have black in stock, but i know they can order more of the "raw" aluminum ones. Might take longer though.

June 6th Update

Yesterday i had a chance to work on my Grom!

Parts Removed/Deleted
1. OEM Headlight (1.015 lb removed)
2. OEM Front Blinkers (0.62 oz. removed)
3. OEM Tail light (0.42 oz.)
4. Remove the OEM fender (4.65 lb removed)

Parts Installed
1. Thai OEM Headlight with projector housing (1.695 lb.)
2. Chimera LED Integrated Rear Tail light (RED) (0.52 oz.)
3. Steady Garage Gunmetal LED Flush Mounted Blinkers (0.29 oz.)

Overall im very happy with the way everything turned out. The parts were ordered from steady garage and everything got to me as described. When they say the blinkers and tail light are plug and play, they were serious. On a side note, as much as i love the look of the TDM Headlight, i was very disappointed to see that it was NOT a true projector headlight. I guess i should have expected that from the price of the unit, but was bummed to see it. With that said, the appearance of it is NIGHT AND DAY over stock. i love the look!!!

Here are some pics of the final product.

On a side note, i had to park my bike outside for 2 weeks so i grabbed my self a Ultra Gaurd Bike Cover in Size "SMALL" and it fits beautifully. (Especially now that the rear fender has been eliminated.

Another small update... I received my new NOI seat from @racefarm and installed it yesterday. First off id like to say that is one of my favorite mods that i have done so far, especially when mated with the Ohlins Shock. I chose this seat because i liked the shape of it and the comfort factor of it, however im not a fan of the "Carbon" look. I will eventually have the seat re-wrapped and maybe have some more material added to the rear cowl "look".

I didnt get a chance to weigh the stock seat and the NOI seat, however i will update this post when i do so.

here are a couple pics of the seat installed.

@Grom912 Thank you for the compliments. So far i have only taken the bike around town to run errands but the seat is extremely comfortable. When i sit in it, i can actually feel compression from the foam and i feel it allows me to it a couple centimeters lower. I will be doing a 100 mile give or take ride today, so i can report back.

You can still fit another passenger on the bike with this seat, yet i have not done it yet. I cant seem to convince my gf to jump on the back of the bike yet. The seat doesn't look like it would crease or anything if someone sat in the back. But you can tell the seat is really only designed for 1 person.

I should have mentioned that one of the reasons i choose this seat, was due to the fact you do NOT have to send a core seat back. So should she decide to jump on the back for a ride, within 20 seconds i can re-install my factory 2 person seat.

Hope this helps!

Another quick update for you guys...

A few months ago i decided i wanted to go Queen Bee Yellow color scheme and found DewaltDakota selling a brand new set complete with the black rear MSX panels recently... I couldn't refuse.

Yellow Footwear

The installation was incredibly simple and i was done with everything in roughly 30-50 minutes. 10 minutes or so were spent on finding the plastic pin to the rivet thatdisappeared after i pushed it in to remove the stock red plastics.

Sorry for the crappy pics. I will take more soon!

How is that seat of yours? You happy with it?
I really love how this NOI seat looks cosmetically. The seat is really comfortable compared to stock however im not 100% sure im sold on it as of yet. Even though this seat is much more comfortable than stock, the shape of it does place you closer to the gas tank and can make the riding position a little awkward depending on your size. For instance, the first time i rode with this seat, my legs were a little sore the next morning but i had been riding the grom for 4-6 months prior to the seat install. I feel that was due to the changed riding position. The seat does also sit slightly lower than stock so if you are short, this seat may be a good fit for you. The stock seat makes it really easy for you to slide your keester back and go into full tuck where with this seat, you cant really slide back to stretch out.

The seat does have its ups and downs and as of now i choose to still ride with it. I still have the stock seat so if i ever choose to go back to stock, i have that option.

The seat is based off of an OEM HONDA seat base, so it goes on and off the bike just like a stock seat would and retains the spot for your owners manual should you choose to keep that on the bike.

Hope this helps!

Hey fellow Gromers!

Haven't posted in a while so i figured i would give you guys an update on my build. Here is a list of what i have installed as of January 6, 2015!

1. Triple Bronze Custom Powder Coated OEM Enkei 12" Wheels
2. Michelin Power Pure Tires (120/70-12 Front // 140/70-12 Rear)
3. RRGS CNC Tire Valve Stem M10 (Bronze Finish)
4. POSH Low Rise Bar - Triple Bronze Custom Powder Coated (matches wheels)
5. POSH Brown Handle Bar Grips
6. POSH anodized Gold Bar Ends
7. H4 Headlight Bulb Conversion

The 140 Michelin Rear Tire is taller than the OEM 130 tire and so far the ride seems really nice on these tires. The Michelin rear 140 tire is about 3/4"-1.1" taller than the factory 130 Vee Rubber. With that said, after the install of the Michelin rear tire, i cant seem to hit the rev limiter in 4th gear anymore. Also I'm almost 100 percent positive my speedometer is no longer accurate (which i anticipated). Have others encountered the redline issues with their install? Im assuming i would need to install a power commander or something to tell the ECU that i have changed the tire size? I may be leaning to just buying a Michelin 130 series rear tire instead of dealing with it.

Here is a picture showing the differences between stock Vee Rubber tires and the Michelin Power Pures.

Last but not least, here is a picture of everything on the bike. I will take more pictures when the weather is better as its been rainy here in sunny SOCAL. this was the only pic i was able to take before we went for a night ride.

I haven't been on the forum in a while but i have some updates for you guys. I have installed a few more parts, ordered some more and completed some much needed maintenance.

1. Russell Performance Front (4" shorter) and Rear SS Brake Lines Installed on MARCH 3, 2015
Russell Performance borrowed my bike (since i work at edelbrock) and they used it to develop some new Stainless Steel Brake Lines. I asked them to build me a set utilizing a front brake line cut -4 inches shorter than the factory line so that it will fit nicely on my POSH Shorty handlebar setup. The end result came out very well. The lines both look and perform very well.

2. POWTEC Billet Adjustable short Brake and Clutch Levers Installed on MARCH 7, 2015
Now that i got my new brake lines installed, i wanted a shorter and sportier look and feel for my brake and clutch levers. I ordered a set of POWTEC Billet Adjustable levers and installed them very easily. I was very impressed at the quality of these levers for being something "cheaper" that i ordered from rideit.com from overseas. Shipping was fast, and the product was just as described if not better, and the packaging was done very well. Makes you feel like your getting a quality product at a fraction of the price.

MAINTENANCE
Oil Filter Screen and Spinner Service
This service was much easier than i expected it to be. All in all it took me 25-30 minutes total once i had all my tools and the bike in service position. I will list out all the steps i did in case it will help some of you out when it comes time to tackle yours!!!

1. First and foremost, you will want to drain your oil. In order for me to properly remove my oil drain plug without any issue, i have to loosen the bottom bolt holding my YOSHI exhaust to the frame. (not the header bolt or the bolt under the seat). this will give me enough room to move my header 1-3mm just to get my ratchet onto the bolt.

2. Once the exhaust bolt is loosened (no need to remove it), remove your drain plug and drain oil. Once your bike looks like its drained all the oil, I grab the bike by the handlebars and straighten it out removing the bike off the kick stand to allow as much oil to drain as possible. When the bike is on an angle, the oil tends to want to puddle on one side.

3. After the oil is drained, use a 8mm socket with various extensions to break loose all the side cover bolts. In my case, i have over racing frame sliders installed, so i had to remove the frame slider using allen heads. Once you remove all bolts holding the case onto the bike. Give it a couple taps, to break the housing loose. I ended up using a very small flat head screw driver to slightly pry it open and with little to no effort, it popped off. Once you pop it off, disconnected your clutch cable and remove the lid and store somewhere safely. BY this point, your bike should look like this.

4. Now that the cover is removed and safely stored away, You can pull the screen out and look at all the gunk and metal shavings lodged in it. * please note the shape and orientation of the screen so that you can insert it back in the same way after a good cleaning. Here is what my screen looked like after 1477 miles of hard driving. I used simple green, a fine bristle tooth brush and a mechanics rag to clean mine. Looked brand new after the cleaning.

Bumper Automotive exterior Auto part Automotive lighting Grille

Yellow Hand Technology Electronic device

5. Once i cleaned the screen, i immediately put it back in so that i didnt forget this step down the road.

6. Now that the screen is back in its home, i tackled the 3 10mm bolts on the oil spinner. I left my bike in neutral while removing the bolts and i had little to no issues removing them. I simply placed the ratchet on the each bolt and gave the ratchet a quick hit from my palm breaking all the bolts loose enough to then hold the spinner with my hand as i backed the bolts out. At this point you will now be staring at this.

Auto part Wheel Automotive wheel system Rotor Rim

Notice the gasket stayed onto the spinner. *Please note that i ended up reusing this gasket as it looked good to me. You should be very careful around it as you clean the spinner as to not damage it. Once you start cleaning you think that its not that dirty, but when you apply some pressure on the shop rag, you notice the oil is literally caked on.

Here is what my shop rag looked like after a couple swipes.

Blue Turquoise Teal Textile Woven fabric

Here is what the spinner looked like after complete cleaning.

Auto part Wheel Disc brake Automotive wheel system Rotor

7. Now that everything is all cleaned up and good to go, i went ahead and cleaned all the thread on the 3 10mm bolts for the spinner and applied blue loc-tite on the treads and reinstalled. *Please note to torque down the spinner bolts to 9 ft-lbs. of torque. I did not use a torque wrench for mine. What i did was tighten all the bolts using the ratchet until the spinner started turning with the bolt. Once i did that with all 3 bolts, i gave it a couple more turns keeping my hands towards the ratcheting part of the wrench so that i did not over torque with all the leverage.

8. Now that you have the spinner bolted back up properly, Place the side cover back on the bike and try not to scratch it on the rear foot brake. Before i put this cover back on, i grabbed my shop rag and gave the gasket and the mating surface a quick wipe down to ensure a good quality seal. Once the cover is back on properly... wipe down all the cover bolts, so that all the threads are clean and apply loc-tite on the treads and reinstall. *Please note not to over torque any of these bolts as well when reinstalling. Once all the bolts are secure, be sure to reconnect your clutch line and then give the bolts the final tighten by using the same technique you would an intake manifold or wheel lug nuts by alternating sides to ensure a proper seal.

9. Last step would be to put a new crush washer on the oil filter bolt and reinstall then Refill the oil. I used honda synthetic racing 10w30 oil from the local honda dealer. Once the bike was topped off, i tightened my exhaust bolt and fired her up. She started the first try and purred nicely.

Last but not least... I ordered a Chimera Air Intake Kit from the dudes over at Steady Garage. I received my item the next day i ordered it and it was packaged very well. I will install this most likely today and or Saturday, then reset my ECU and take her for a spin to see if anything changed.
