Went out for a Saturday ride with fellow Grom rider, Juggernet and a fellow ninja 300 forum rider, DeltaFoxtrotZulu... at the end of the ride, I let him borrow my Grom to vlog a review for it and here's what he has to say.... I guess with all the laughing, he had himself a pretty good time on the grom....

Good first impressions of the Grom. I own both a Grom and 2014 Ninja 300 and ride both almost every day. These bikes complement each other. The Ninja 300 is excellent for longer rides and highway speeds. The Grom is great fun for all other kinds of riding...city, twisties, speeds of 55 mph or under, although I have taken my Grom on a couple of 100-mile trips and routinely take it on the interstate. It's an adventure. I'm small though and can tuck and keep the Grom at 62-66 mph pretty well.

Juggernet's other ride is a 636..... the Grom is just overall fun to ride..... my other bike is a 2013 Ninja 300 and I love going from one to the other... as others said, it's more fun riding a slow bike fast rather than riding a fast bike slow.....

Now try coming from a Hayabusa or a ZX6R to a Grom.

I still ride my Grom everyday for gas savings.

The grom really is unbeatable for sheer "fun factor". It's distilled essence of motorcyling enjoyment.

After riding a 1000 for a few years, I definitely got used to the speed and power. Not that I now thought it was too slow, but it didn't have that "wow" factor like it used it. Ride the grom, get back on the Z, and the WOW is definitely back. Makes me appreciate it that much more.

Those FZ09s are sick, my buddy bought one. With the m4 exhaust it sounds like a Supra...one of the best sounding bikes I've ever heard.

Interesting how this guy was laughing at how much smaller and slower the Grom was vs. his 300, but when in comparison to bigger cc MC's there's really not that much different from the 125 vs 300.

I did appreciate how he stressed the fun factor. All in all, it was an entertaining video to watch. Thanks for sharing.

There is a huge difference between a Ninja 300 and a Grom though. The Ninja 300 on a race track will not keep up with 600s and liter bikes on the straightaways, but coming into the corners it is faster because being lighter, it can brake later, and within the turns it outperforms them. Really the Ninja 300 is closer to those bigger bikes in looks and performance than it is the Grom. Performance-wise the Grom struggles to go 65 mph while the Ninja 300 goes over 100 mph.

I love my Ninja 300... overall, it's just a more refined motorcycle.... which I certainly have to be in a more serious mindset when I ride it... as opposed to the Grom where it's just fun to ride.... I have to say though that I learn a lot riding the Grom at WOT that I am able to translate that to smoother lines on the Ninja when I go up the same twisty roads....

Haha. Nothing wrong with that. I have at least 4 at any given time...all very different. I rode the Grom and Ninja 300 today. My next bike will be the KTM RC390 if my dealer gets one. The only bikes I would love to ride but don't are the supermoto or dual purpose bikes cause they are too tall for me. I do like the naked, lighter-weight bikes. The other thing I am watching closely is advances in battery technology. My Zero S is fine, but if they come up with better range without more weight, I will be on that.
