Starting to learn but figured I would start here. Any obvious parts that are not stock? I am a grom amateur and seeking the power of the forum. I see a KN filter sticking out but no idea what was done to it. Any opinions on items spotted please let me know.

1. Exhaust is obvious (assume it’s full),
2. Levers seem cheap but adjustable
3. Frame sliders by rear sets?
4. Shifter has ims decal on it?
5. bars and grips (prob replace grips)
6. Mirrors (any good)?

I run a 2022 so im not too familiar with OG parts but that shock looks fake to me. The exhaust is a good one, the levers are cheap but common, the sliders are probably ebay as well but i cant confirm, shifter is legit, oil cooler looks like a morin cooler which is legit, grips are protaper so those are legit and good ones at that, bars look like klx110 bars which a lot of people including myself run and love them, turn signals are common and good i think, the mobber tires are sick i run those on one of my groms and love them, and the luggage rack seems legit. It looks like a common go to for people that wanna run on. I personally would get rid of that shock and go with Racing Bros or Ohlins. It looks like a knock off Ohlins and i would put money that the reservoir is just for show lol. hope this helps

Thank you that is exactly the type of info I am looking for. Anything else I should be looking at under the hood? Are cheap shocks still better than stock?

It’s hard to say. The stock shock sucks but cheap ones may be just as bad if not worse or more likely to fail at least. Personally I would rather a stock shock over a knock off but that’s just me. People do run them regardless. As for other things to look for, check the ecu and see if it’s a flashed stock ecu or an aftermarket tuner like aRacer or something, see if the jug says 125 or if it’s got a bbk, see if the cam is stock (would have to pull it to see), check the intake as well as how many teeth the sprockets have
Is there an obvious way to tell on the jug or if a big bore installed? I will check sprockets also. Also would the ECU be signed or have a decal on it if it were flashed? I know that’s been the case with my other bikes but didn’t know if this would be the same way. No signs of a power commander but it seems to run great. Would upgrading the oil cooler be typical with stick engine? Thanks again
