Howdy from the west desert of Utah! just picked up my 2023 Grom. Tired of getting blown around on my sport bikes by the frequent high wind here. So far, its a blast but Im wondering why the motor doesn't get close to redline, even at 62mph. Well; didn't buy it for speed. Plan to race it on the local kart track at Utah Motorsports Campus. Any Grom racers out there?

In standard form the redline is way above peak power rpm so given that 5th gear is a distinct overdrive you need a significant downhill stretch or following wind.

There is a lot of information on the forum about tuning and even Honda seem to accept that there is another 1000 rpm to play with beyond the peak power 7250. Plenty of racers here too.
I should add that the speedometer is a bit optimistic, so the above may not correlate with what you see on the dial.
