So I’m new to the bike world and just got a 2022 Grom. So far I’ve done a full Yoshi exhaust, TST rear fender delete with integrated tail light, Chimera mount with Woodcraft clip on handle bars and new mirrors. Pretty typical first mods. But when it comes to sprockets, throttle tubes, chains and chain adjusters, sliders, cages and things such as that I’m pretty ignorant on what helps achieve certain goals and what actually has negative effects. I know a smaller front sprocket is good for low end torque and helps stunting but hurts top end speed and a bigger sprocket does the opposite, for example. So for my Grom I’m basically looking to do a stunting build but would like to up my top speed a bit. But what are the pros and cons of mods and what should I look into and what should I stay away from? If they have power commanders or Aracers in stock soon I would like to do that with the chimera intake but other than that I don’t know what else I should look much into and what’s not worth it. Sorry for the long post I just found this forum and figured it’s a great spot to start and don’t wanna blow all my money on useless mods. Thanks in advance 🤙

First question, did you reset your ecu after doing the exhaust? The key to success is not getting things you don’t actually need. If you’re not sure go one step at a time. If you want top speed but also stunting, you may want to consider a cam and some tuning to adjust the rev limit. That will give you more use out of each gear. If you get a little more oomph outta your engine you could also do a one or two tooth smaller rear sprocket, but changes that way really sap your power on a stock engine.

I haven’t flashed the ECU or anything after the exhaust. I definitely want the chimera intake but I wanna wait until I can have it flashed or use a power commander / stand alone ECU with it because I keep hearing tha will cause it to go lean. I was thinking about changing sprockets for a little more torque but I don’t wanna sacrifice top speed. If I could go 70mph no problem I’d be happy speed wise but would like to have a little more low end torque for stunts. Idk if that’s asking too much though
