Dobeck Performance EJK fuel controller, Power Commander and Bazzaz ZFi. Can someone explain the pros and cons of each unit . I think that they all can be reprogramed as you make performance changes , pipe ,intake ,air box changes. Will they all work if a big bore kit is installed. I want to make the correct choice before I buy anything. I really dont understand the way each systems can be reprogramed if I dont own a laptop . This is all new to me.

Thank You

I tuned (street )all day today with zfi and zfm , and all I can say is if you mess with closed loop the ecu will lean out all maps,, I got 80-100% throttle to 13.0a/f then I messed with 50-100% and the ecu would lean all the maps out each time, it would go lean on whole map every time you added more fuel... I ended up like +45 in most map lol...and still it was getting leaner each time,,,

Also the bazzaz base map does not work...at least for me,,, it was fine for few mins actually felt descent , but when ecu learned that map all went to shit.....the only way to really tune the ecu would be to bypass/disable the o2 sensor (keep it open loop)
I'm going to mess with it some more tomorrow, I hope some expert tuners chime in and find a fix..

Right now I'm happy with with the factory tune (closed loop) I'm just going to tune WOT.. I hope the big bore guys come up with some thing

I tried contacting bazzaz about the open/closed loop thing, but haven't heard back yet. Probably because of Thanksgiving. I have mine on the bike, but I'm picking some parts up today then I should be able to test it. I'm wondering if the guys at hard racing have had a similar result. It seems the stock system is fighting the controller. Actually someone mentioned this would probably happen on another discussion we had, I think it was outrider.

What we might have to do a put a resistor in line of the O2 sensor. If you just take it out all together it might assume a full lean condition all the time and try to richen the mixture. I'm sure we will get this sorted out, it just may take a little bit. I would also try calling the Bazzaz technical support guys.

The truth is that people are now just getting their fuel controllers so you may want to wait until a few people are seeing good results with them.

Sucks to hear people are having this trouble. I can't even get the software to communicate with the Bazzaz. It just keeps telling me I have sessor errors.

So looks like I will have more issues even when I figure my current problem out. Not very happy so far.

The controller taps into the TPS, ignition pulse for RPM, neutral switch, injector, and the speed sensor. I had to calibrate the TPS on mine with the software. Before it was calibrated it was showing 44% throttle opening at closed throttle so that the first thing you should do. Eventually when I get the Damn engine to stop burning oil I'll get back to tuning, this has nothing to do with the bazzaz, more likely Yuminashi, but we'll see.

Im very interested in the results and fixes here. I bought a Bazzaz, but have not had a chance to install it yet. I only got the Controller not the Auto Tune. Guess I should invest in the Auto Tune as soon as a resolve for the problems have been found.

It wouldn't do any good. The Bazzaz is a piggyback system which works with the stock system. It also doesn't make on the fly adjustments like the PCV Autotune. With the bazzaz you tune each throttle position in 10% increments and it suggests map settings based upon your target A\F mixture. It is a good system they just take a slightly different Approach than the others. If you want a plug and play system without having to know about AF ratios and tuning the EJK is probably the best for you. If you like to get into the details and know exactly what is happening inside your engine and want full control the bazzaz might be the option for you.
