Im having a custom made shock by Cogent Dynamics because, like many other bikes I have ridden, the groms rear suspension seems stiff (very stiff) to me. With other bikes this has resulted in back spasms after a short time.

Im waiting for the shock from CD. I have sent them the stock one. They have dyno ed it. We have discussed my requirements and now CD is designing and building the shock. In the mean time theyve returned the stock one to me and I have re installed it.

I have 60 miles on my Grom so far. Back is definately tweaked. No bad but no doubt dammage has been done if only a little.

I have installed an AirHawk seat pad and reduced the rear tire pressure to 24 lbs to aleviate the problem. It hasnt worked.

So... as a heads up to anyone in the market for a Grom.....if the CD shock doesnt work my Grom will be for sale. Its black and Im located in NJ near Philly.

I expect to know one way or the other in about a month.

The stock shock is a POS with barely an inch of travel after sag. Not sure it's even good for a kids mountain bike..haaha but hey it's a $2999 7/8 scale play bike...
I went with the Ohlins and my god what an improvement
