Msx/grom hid head lamp suitable?

Hello folks.
Sorry if this question has already been asked and answered but the search didn't direct me .
Can a standard grom run a 35 or 55 watt hid lamp kit.
I Already have a spare slim balest box from another kit and it looks like it could be hidden easily,or if there's a link available to a previous members conversion I'd be very appreciated ?
Cheers

Yes, a stock Grom can support the electrical load, but you will need to modify your headlight as neither the MSX nor the Grom stock headlight are designed for HID lighting and your output will not be that great.
unless i have a faulty electrical, when i was running a 55w ballast, the amount of power consumed was more than the grom to produce to maintain the battery. this is partly because i ride in the city with a lot of stop and go. below 3-4k, the grom is not charging the battery. with 35w, i do not have the same problems with 55w. however, to be safe, i installed one of those led volt meters.
Cheers folks.
I haven't removed it yet but is it a H4 bulb ?

Cheers. Found its a H4 tonight. Is fitment issues due the extra depth off the bulb glass?
hey guyz...ive been running my hid for the last few months but today my battery was flat out and it would not charge...the bike would only start up from push starting it...after rewiring my old bulb back it charged up fine again...does this mean the HID is drawing too much power? im using a 35w bulb..would it be a good idea to get a volt meter?
do you ride a lot of stop and go? as the grom doesn't charge until around 4000 rpms, the battery was taking most of the load to run the grom and your hid's. i upgraded to a shorai which has nearly 4x the capacity over stock. so far, i have had zero problems with voltage at idle.

btw, i installed a led volt meter prior to upgrading my battery. at idle, prior to the shorai, it would flash red indicating a very low voltage of 11.2v and below. now, the lowest i've gone is steady amber which indicates 12.8v-11.8v which is fine during idle. upon passing 4000 rpm, the volt meter instantly changes to green indicating the battery is recharging fairly quickly.
Thanks, yes i commute in london so i do stop and go a lot..i have now fitted a voltmeter also and put a cut off switch for the HID under my seat so i guess whenever the voltage goes low i can turn off the HID for a while..

on idle at the moment its around 12v and with ignition on its around 11.8v for now..it does go up when it goes past the 4000rpm as you say. Do you think its okay to keep running like this or would it be best to upgrade the battery?

Hey buddy,

need advice again :p

im still having HID issues :(
i am now using a shorai battery also. but most of the time my hid does not fire up..sometime the bike struggles to crank aswel :(
my problem is even when the bike starts and i see my volts nearly at 14 volts the hid doesn't turn on and i just get this buzzing sound when it starts...
i really dont understand because if the voltage is that high would it not mean the battery is charged? and it shouldn't really struggle to start the bike...

would there be something else wrong with my bike or do i need a new hd ballast?
