Wow it was such a beautiful morning today in Houston, TX.

As a morning routine, I watch the news to see what the weather would be like.

10% chance of rain around 4-5pm. But to start the day off it was a nice 71º...
This is much better than the last few weeks, because in houston,tx morning temps started at 80º or higher! On the drive home, temps were reaching 100º!

Move over summer... I want some nice fall temperatures!

Also like others have suggested, with a little bit more practice, I think I'm finally getting the hang of finding the gears, when to up shift and down shift, which gear should i be in...

It is slowly clicking!

I will be at work all day because i'm making up my hours from thursday when i went to pick up my Grom.

For all those that have their grom or will be picking it up today, Be safe out there... and enjoy!

what did Honda tell you about the bike when you picked it up...like do you get a free service oil change etc?
Nope didn't know to ask for stuff like that... but even if they had free a free oil change, i wouldn't been able to use it since the dealership was 5 hours away.

How many others got free stuff? What did they throw in?

I'd love to get free stuff when I buy bikes. Its never happened. Where are you buying that you get free extras, I want to shop there! Id drive a while to buy a grom if they included new ford f150..

BTW, we all are waiting to see the smokey burnout picture. Please get on that..
Man it is has been a quiet sat on this board? I hope everyone is out riding their new groms!!!
Usually newer riders don't put enough oomph into the shifter and the gear they miss is 2nd , but you can miss any gear. You really can't push up too hard with your foot when you shift gears, and you can't accidently get it into a higher gear until you release your foot on the shifter and the shifter returns to the original position. You can then shift into the next higher gear without ever letting out the clutch if you want to go from 1st to 3rd for example. Same with downshifting. I do that a lot when I will exit the interstate going 80 mph and find myself on a ramp with slow moving traffic. I just downshift from 6th to 4th or even 3rd, bang, bang, bang and let out the clutch. The Gixxer goes form 80 to 40 quickly...even quicker if you use the brakes along with it. There's no slipper clutch on the Grom though, so you won't want to go from 4th to 1st from say 50 mph and let out the clutch. That would cause the bike's rear wheel to lock momentarily and skip possibly causing you to lose control. 4th to 3rd would be fine though or maybe even 4th to 2nd at that speed to get the bike slowed down quickly.

Definitely do some engine braking. As far as the rear wheel hop I don't know that that'll be too big of a problem BUT I do want to try backing it into some turns at some point ............................ once I have mine.
