Hi everyone.

I'm sure I'm not alone on seemingly always forgetting to cancel my indicators on both my monkey and dax. I don't want to go to a load of expense or reinvent the wheel. I have read a couple of articles where people have fitted small buzzer direct to the indicators. Has anyone done this and is there anything to avoid?.
Thanks Rob

Interesting idea. There must be a relatively easy way to meke them self canceling, another option that may work better than a buzzer.

Grok:

Here are some popular options based on reviews and discussions:

  • Smart Turn System (STS or ST2 Turn System): This compact module is designed for universal motorcycle use and cancels signals automatically after detecting a completed turn via motion sensors. It's praised for reliability and ease of installation (splicing into the turn signal wiring, no need for additional switches). Price is around $99. It's been successfully installed on various bikes, and while not specifically marketed for the Grom, its universal design should work without issues.
  • Signal Dynamics Self-Canceling Turn Signal Module: A plug-and-play replacement for your existing flasher relay that adds auto-cancellation based on time or distance. It's universal for 12V systems, compatible with LED or incandescent signals, and includes hazard flasher functionality. Costs about $50–$70 and is straightforward to install.
  • Custom Dynamics Universal Auto-Cancel Turn Signal Module: Adds self-cancellation and four-way hazard flashers. It's universal for early or non-equipped bikes, works with 12V systems, and cancels after a set time or distance. Around $60–$80, with easy wiring integration.
  • Badlands Automatic Turn Signal Canceling Module: A simple add-on that provides self-cancellation without needing OEM modules. Universal for most bikes, it plugs in and uses timing to cancel signals. Priced at $50–$100.

Before purchasing, verify compatibility with your Grom's year (e.g., 12V electrical system) and signal type (stock or LED). Installation usually involves basic tools, soldering or crimping wires, and following the module's instructions—expect 30–60 minutes. If you're not comfortable with wiring, consult a mechanic. Check motorcycle forums like Reddit's r/motorcycles or r/HondaGrom for user experiences, as some have added these to similar Honda models like the Rebel.

you can fit a piezo buzzer in parallel with your indicators, you will either need 2 (L and R) or use a couple of diodes in the feed, otherwise your indicators would become hazzard lights :ROFLMAO:.You can get various prewired kits of fleabay for not much more than making your own. Problem I had when I tried this was finding somewhere discrete to mount the buzzer where I could hear it with full face lid on, in the end I gave up

I've unfortunately got a lot of bike repairs to do at the moment....the problems of an ageing fleet :).
Welcome to the club! I struggle to have between 4 to 6 bikes running which I can pick for the task.
And about 10 ongoing projets, some stalled over 10 years. Total number of bikes ? Good question, I don't know, must be between 35 and 40, maybe more.
Greetings from Luxembourg, Gabby aka Mitch41.

I have my FJ1200 in bits at the moment and as I have access to the front indicatotr I wired up thge beeper........wow, how loud. I'm just going to stick it inside the fairing. As you said, I can imagine pedestrians hearing it. Once upon a time I would have hated the idea of a buzzer, but after 44 years of biking and traffic being what it is I'm becoming more sensible.... (ish). Once again, a great find...thanks.
