Lost rear fender bolt in frame tube. Help!

I know I'm not the first one to have this happen. But when I was putting on my new fender eliminator, I lost the rear bolt in the frame tube. Trying to get advise from someone that actually got their bolt back out. I tried a snake tool with a magnet in the end and tried mechanical pick up tool with the little claw.

I had to unbolt the plastic that surrounds the taillight, then was able to flex it downward enough to get a straight shot into the tube with a long magnet.
Just have a buddy help you pick the bike up straight and shake it out. Lol

Happened to me also lol. Twice!
I opened the back doors on my van and lifted the front wheel up and that pesky little sucker rolled right out.
All Honda had to do was put in plastic plugs.
I put a strip of duct tape over the holes to prevent it again.
What a set-up for humor! Or aggravation.. Or a rattle in your bike! :disappointed:
Me and skeet did the same thing a couple of times, put it in gear and lift up from the forks. Give it a jiggle and it'll fall out. Be sure not the rattle the muffler bearings loose tho

I put Duct tape over both frame holes and left it there for future work, now my bolt slips out of my hand no problem it will not go down that stupid hole.

Had the problem....
Had a small magnet, (1" X 1" X 1/8 ") with a hole thru the middle. Put the magnet in the vice & broke half off and tied a strip of safety wire on on the half and slipped it down the tube and "EURICA", it pulled the bolt out of the tube. Took about 5 mins.

Did the same thing LOL. Had a 2x4 against a wall/tire with the bike in gear while my roommate and I lifted up the front end. Right as my GF pulls in the driveway wondering WTF we are doing haha.
Thanks guys. I tried lifting the front end by myself, but when I got it up to my waste I freaked out and put it back down. I kept picturing myself dropping the bike on its side. Now my back hurts like crazy. So I stripped off all of the fenders to get it out with a magnet, which worked. In the process I broke the tab off the inside side panel. FML

Haha it'll be fine. Might rattle and annoy you though :D
I almost did this messing with my plate bracket... I also put some strips of electrical tape to prevent this from happening. Thanks Honda.
take a medical cap or any cap that fits over the tube and glue it there for good. Even a wine or champagne cork will work.

If you put something together and have a left over screw bolt etc it just means it wasn't a necessary component. At least that's what I told the wife this morning after fixing the washer haha.
