So I had the body panel off the panel off the left side doing some stuff and took the key out of the side lock and set it in the little area inset compartment. Got done doing what I was doing put the panel on, then the seat. Well my stupid ass left the key in the seat compartment!
Anyone have any advice on how I can release the seat latch without the key??? I tried reaching my fingers behind it to see if I could find a way to unlatch it, no luck. Please someone tell me a way out of this mess.

Damn...I thought I had lost one of my keys, so I tried Lowe's and Wallyworld to no avail. I'll have to hit up Ace's. Bummer, man, I suppose your last resort would be your Honda dealer as would have been mine. I did find mine, though...it was stuck in the side seat release. DOH!

slide a thin long screw driver near where the latch is and push on the latch or cable and the seat will come up. You must first know where the latch is located so the screw driver/thin long strong metal will be in that area.

be careful on the painted plastic, by lifting up a little on the seat.

All motorcycle rear seat are not safe, serious

Ok so I got the seat released and off. Keys retreived and promptly scolded for getting themselves trapped under the seat. Here is a how to for anyone who possibly could find themselves in the same boat.
Remove the plastic bottom piece under the plate extension.
Thankfully Honda has a small access hole right under the location of the seat latch post. I put a screw driver in beside the post and preyed towards the front. The post fits through the plate you see in pic 2 in the 8mm ish hole.
Heard the seat release and it was off!!
Hope this helps someone out of the mess that I found myself in lastnight.

It took 3 weeks for my honda dealer to get me blanks! They sell blanks but don't cut them.

Honda USA- sent me a cut key for free but since they normally don't do it.. it was cut wrong and didn't work! If you looking at the top of key, Honda didn't start high enough so 1/4" was left off at the bottom! And yes, they followed the code!

Ace made 3-5 keys until finally only one worked! They gave up and didn't want to waste anymore blanks.

I have 2 blanksm,but i don't know where i can get them cut at!!!
