Fired the bike up today and now it's working. Seems like the terminal plug (molex or whatever they're called?) had a loose wire inside of it. The Yoshimura LED's are bright and look great on the bike. Thank you guys for the replies.

Is the license plate light ALWAYS on, or does it only come on at night? Asking because I installed the Yoshi fender eliminator kit and the license plate light isn't coming on. I can't remember if the stock one was always on or not, but when I reconnected the stock light, it wasn't coming on either. Checked the wiring and it's correct according to the Yoshi manual, and my blinkers are still working fine... no blown fuses. Maybe I'm just mentally challenged?

Only on when the bike is physically turned on and at least at idle.
Yeah, at idle I'm getting nothing. Looks like I'll have to go get it checked out. Thanks for replying.
the license plate light in always on. check your connections. you need battery voltage on the hot leads and a good ground.

That's weird ... straight from the dealer my tag light wasn't on when the ignition was turned to on and I cussed like my light was burnt out. Then, that night I noticed with the bike running it was on. When I put the Composimo relocator on I was pissed cause when I clicked the ignition on the light didn't work, then when I turned the bike over and it was at idle the light was on. I'll look into it.

Same thing happened to me. Installed my Yoshi fender eliminator kit and the plate light wasn't working. tested the Yoshi light directly to the battery and it lit up. checked the plate light leads (yellow and green) and no voltage, fuses are good. Didn't notice if the stock light was working before the install, I assume it did, guess I'll have to buy a service manual.

Good idea here^^^^

It makes total sense that the bike needs to be running. Likely some solenoid somewhere that needs the motor running to power the lighting system.
only on when engine is on. just like the headlight
