I am just posting up some pictures as I go along the way. I am not doing anything major to the bike. It is black, I like the black. Just going to add a few touches here and there as I see fit. First real mod I did was powdercoating the peg brackets.

Then I added some Chinese shorty levers, no pics needed. You can see them in the following pics.

Next I added a Thai headlight. This is only temporary for about a week or two until I get my super secret custom headlight setup in. Nothing crazy, just a little something I am throwing together. Here are the pics as it sits today.

So I have a minor update. The Chazzos suck, do not even touch the front brake switch, so I was rolling around with my brake light fully lit all the time. Took that off. Put my MNNTHBX fender eliminator on. Fabbed up a plate light from Audi style side emitting LEDs. Works alright, might slightly crease the plate if it becomes an issue. On to the pic:

You should be able to do it for around $200 in materials and $75 in labor. Another $15 for postage and you are around $300.

If you are a do-it-yourself kind of guy you could probably do it yourself. I am not. If you need someone to do it, I can put you in touch with my guy. It is a hobby for him, but the work I have seen him do in the past has been good.

So I am at a stand still with the HID light because it appears that the relay I received from TRS is bad. So. I have been waiting on Part Unlimited to get the Carbon RS-9 Yoshimura full exhaust system in stock for about 2 months now. The ETA was about two weeks ago but when I called they told me a few days and then those few days turned into "end of November." I am impatient, so end of November doesn't work for me. I work at a Honda dealer and had called Yoshimura directly but the price they quoted me was higher than the one I got through Parts Unlimited, so I decided to wait. Once Parts Unlimited told me it would be another month, I decided to again try Yoshimura directly. Talked to a guy who was able to get me one out the same day for a decent price. Got it in yesterday. So whenever I would ride next to a jersey barrier I noticed that I had a bit of noise from the chain. Checked and made sure everything was aligned, it was, still had the noise. It may be a bit nit-picky, but that's ok. I started looking around for a 420 o-ring chain and realized there weren't a ton of them out there. Alas, I stumbled across this on Amazon:

Put it on tonight and went for a quick ride. The noise seems to have settled down to almost nothing. Still waiting for my wiring harness to come in the mail so I can complete my HID setup.

I noticed the stock chain was a little noisy too. Chalked it up to my lack of experience since it checked out ok. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who noticed it. I think I remember reading that someone on here switched out to a belt drive.

Got another piece of the equation today. It is a BTX Industries intake. Ran me $176 shipped. Has a provision for the AIT sensor and includes a UNIfilter. Going to be about a week before I put it on as I am still waiting for my HID harness from TheRetrofitSource.

As I understand it, it is a direct bolt on. I have about a week before I will get my first glimpse at the intake manifold/throttle body setup on the Grom. CORRECTION: It is a BTX Industries intake. If you are interested please email: [email protected]
