Hi GROMers, quick question.... is it possible to make the rear blinkers light up all the time (like the front ones) and still work? Thanks.

YES!!! lol I did this accidentally! When I put the smaller "flush mount" ones in I wired all three stock wires to the turn signals and all 4 lights worked and were all lighted on at the same time. I re wired the fronts with Diodes and now they are not all lit up and all work correctly. But yes there's a way to do it where they still work.

there is an easy way to make it work. take the two power wires, the running light and blinker wires. goto radio shack and get 4 1n5400 diodes. solder those to the positive wires. make sure the silver top of the diodes lead away from the harness. take the two ends of the diodes and the positive wire of the flushmounts and solder those together. connect the grounds. now you will have blinkers and running lights

Considering the originals are 5w/21w, what kind of resistor would you put in line with the running light +ve to reduce its light output?

This seems like there would be a constant 12v to the led at all times therefore not being able to flash. Does this mod actually work? If so would someone smarter than me please explain:redface-new:

I was planning on doing this mod my self, but I was going to buy a stock front set of turn signals and put them in the back. Since the fronts are dual filament bulbs all I would have to do is wire the running light. I have smoke turn signals lenses so I would just buy some red 1157 led's to keep it all legal. This mini project stopped since I was working on the motor but I may do it now.

I figured it out. I did not realize that the turn signal switch cuts power to the parking light while flashing the signal. It all makes sense now!
