Just bought a FMF full exhaust.
Plan on installing it soon, but wanted to ask the grom group whether an ECU reset is necessary?
Has anyone with an aftermarket done this? Or do I just need to disconnect and reconnect battery. Thanks.

Doesn't matter If you do or not, you won't notice any difference. At least I didn't after I installed FMF and reset ECU

No.

Grom will fix itself. But you will never know. Just go ride it and enjoy. The difference between stock and a pipe and a pipe and filter is maybe 1 HP. OK 2 HP under perfect conditions. Not really noticeable.

i went ahead and disconnected the ground at the begining of the install, just so that the computer has a fresh start and can adjust itself in a couple miles rather than 20-30.

I installed FMF and removed snorkles. No top speed increase but gets to 55 way faster. No ECU reset.

I noticed the improvement when I added a yoshi pipe, 1-2 hp =10-20% is certainly noticeable maybe not on top end! that will come with tweaking gearing. The rpm range does not change just how fast it gets to high rpm does...

You should reset your ECU after every fill up of gas if you go from a lower grade to one that is higher than 91 octain, or if you change from full synthetic oil to regular Dino oil. :big smile:
