Yeah, TOTALLY dont care about the mileage on this thing. Not for the way I am going to use it. If I get anything over 50 mpg I will be thrilled. I think I am going to be very happy.
Really? It seems to me they have updated the valve train with roller rockers for less friction, they have updated and computerized the ignition for better combustion they have added FI for more accurate fuel metering. IMO the only thing "old" about the engine design is the horizontal cylinder. But based on that only, I believe the first engines had a vertical cylinder so those are actually an older design than this one. But I am no engineer.38 mph might get you 80 mpg.
Under ideal atmospheric conditions.
148 mpg from 125cc from that old an engine design is hilarious.
I hope its true though.
Internal combustion.. That stuff is so 18th centuryI guess what I am asking is what about this engine makes it an old design?
Im not sure but my 1974 1600 cc VW Beetle (aircooled) would get like 28 mpg highway and my 2001 Toyota ECHO (watercooled) driven the same way on the highway (60-65 mph) gets 53 mpg.I guess what I am asking is what about this engine makes it an old design?
I have done just over 100 miles so far to a full tank still have 2 of the read out blocks left, I think I will get around 130 to a tank, granted not been above 55mph yet.
my little honda wave 110i gets around 160 mpg
the handbook says 5.5 litres/ 1.45 US gallon and 1.21 IMP gallonThats awesome but isnt that an imperial gallon?
Yeah I not surprised by the differences in MPG. I think evan by 1974 bugs still relied on points. If it is electronic, it is still not computer controlled and it is still sporting a carb that has been plumbed for emissions, not fuel efficiency. Not to mention the entire car is based on a 1930's design. (Im building a 63 right now.) The ECHO is so far advanced in every way shape and form I would expect it to get double the mileage.Im not sure but my 1974 1600 cc VW Beetle (aircooled) would get like 28 mpg highway and my 2001 Toyota ECHO (watercooled) driven the same way on the highway (60-65 mph) gets 53 mpg.
Now that I remember yes my 74 had points and condenser but the 75-79s were electronic fuel injected!Yeah I not surprised by the differences in MPG. I think evan by 1974 bugs still relied on points.
