I did the same thing to my bike yesterday. The penny I was using fell in the same exact hole! It took me hours to get the penny out. I got it out by tipping the bike up on it on the back wheel after numerous attempts. I then fashioned a coat hanger to fish the penny out of the back hole. I cut up the coat hanger and chop sticked the penny out. I can honestly say this was the most unpleasant vehicle maintenance experiences of my life. Without the advice from this board I wouldn't have gotten the penny out.

To prevent this from happening again I took a snubby flat head screwdriver and JB welded a penny to the end of it.

I think the real lesson here is, PENNYS DO NOT BELONG ANYWHERE NEAR AN ENGINE'S INTERNALS! Try a Quarter instead, much larger and definitely too big to fit through those holes...... You can drill a hole in said wedge device & tie a piece of string to it to keep this from happening too.

Glad you were able to fish it out....
