I was riding my 2018 grom and suddenly my chain broke in have and got flung behind me. I went back and grabbed it and it didn't break at the master key. When I replaced it I made sure everything was within spec and I probably had put 100 miles on it. The chain was a brand new chain from Honda.

Could have been a defect, or overtightened, or not aligned front to back, or even too loose. New chains stretch quite a bit at first. It will be impossible to diagnose over the Internet. It is however, VERY dangerous. You should have a friend or shop help figure out what happened so it can be avoided in the future.

Get a name brand chain (DID, RK, etc...), stock chain is complete JUNK!

Rumour is the stock chain is D.I.D.
I run an aftermarket D.I.D. and love it. The stock chain should not have broken on a 10hp bike, it was not the chains fault. Some other factor was at play.
