I had a choice today, go to the gym or go for a ride. Well I decided to go for a ride. It was a beautiful spring day, and I was just cruising along, minding my own business when I had another choice to make. There were three options this time, go right, go left, or go straight and take some pics of the Grom down on the river bank. I decided to go take some pics of the Grom, but to do this I had to navigate a steep hill with a gravel road. On my way down this gravel road the bike decided to go down on the left side. Ended up cracking a body panel, breaking off the left front turn signal, messed up the left boomerang, and the bars decided they wanted to get all crooked on me also. Luckily nothing was too terribly damaged so I was able to get it back up and started. The clutch wasn't messed up so that was a good sign and I was able to ride it the 20 or so miles back Fort Living-room. And with that long of a ride back I had plenty of time to figure out what was messed up. I also got a nice burn on my right calf from the exhaust pipe as I went over. I'm 2 for 2 on the leg burns from yoshi pipes.
As soon as I got it back into the garage I start ripping the body panels and headlight assembly to see if I can fix the bars as that was my main concern. Luckily all that was really messed up was the risers got turned from 12 o'clock to about 11 o'clock, so you can imagine how that was riding back. The throttle was about 8 inches more forward then the clutch. Anyway the bars are back at where they should be, or as straight as I could possible get them without having to replace anything. My only question is do I call Progressive, deal with a claim, and wait for a check to reimburse the plastics, or do I just deal with it myself and pay out of pocket for the plastics and signal light?
Oh, and the other fowl news. I made an order with Revzilla for a Kriega US-20 tail bag, and as I look it over right out of the box there is a 2 inch cut in the rubber mesh on the bottom of the bag. NO BUENO!!!!! I call them up immediately and send them a pic of the damaged part of the bag. Still waiting to hear from them with a return authorization number.
I need a drink.....
