Hi, this is my first time posting up a thread on a forum explaining step by step installation.

I have been searching on this forum for how to install oil-cooler but nothing.

So i decided to do one myself and help others out. I will try my best to cover everything, so bare with me. Thanks

Bought this kit on ebay for $140 Shipped.
Technology

Here is what's in the kits, which includes:
  1. Mounting Bracket w/(2) Allen bolts w/(2) washers and (2) spacers
  2. Oil Cooler itself
  3. Cam cover to replace the stock cover.
  4. Replacement Long Head Stud
  5. (4) Banjo Bolts w/(5) copper rubber washers
  6. (2) Oil Lines
  7. Instruction in Thai or Cambodia languages, either way i can't read that shit. LOL!!!

This is step 1:

And that was it LoL!, i was like ok WTF!!!

OK, let's start!!!

Unscrew the top cam cover.

Next, take the rubber seal from the stock cam cover and put it in the new provided cam cover.

Screw in the new cam cover with the old rubber seal. Then unscrew the both bottom bolts of the cylinder. Tire Automotive tire Auto part Wheel Automotive wheel system
If you look closing you will see where my finger is pointing there is a stock copper washer on the right side only. The left side is just a regular washer. So don't get it mix up when you reassemble it together.

Next: Assemble the mounting bracket to the oil-cooler. Make sure the wire mesh point forward like the pics. Used the 2 allen bolts and 2 washers and 2 spacers.
Blow torch

It will look like this, also screw in the bongo bolt in the oil cooler.

Make sure you use copper rubber washers, 1 on top of the bonjo and 1 below the bongo like so,

Now you have to remove the stock long head stud. Use a vice grip to do so.

Nice write up. I think an oil cooler would look great on my bike but I don't think it is really necessary for ME and MY riding style. Now, if I install a BBK later on, this will be a must have.

Notice the new long head stud have a groove so the oil can feed into the oil cooler.
Screw Auto part Finger Wheel Metal

Again used vice grip to screw all the way in.
Screw Auto part Nut
Use the stock cooper washer from before and place it back.
Auto part Wheel

put back the 2 stock washer (one copper goes to the right and the regular goes to the left) then place the bracket mount thru the screw.

put the copper rubber washer in from of the mount and use the big bolt provided in the kit and screw it all in.

Finish will look like this.

P.S.: Make sure you hand tighten then give it a little torque. *Don't over tighten* you will strip the tread. Just make sure the screw is on tight enough and it should be good.

Voila you're done, Thank You!!!

Thanks and yes i'm planning to do a big bore kit soon. Don't know which kits yet. So many choices.
Yes seems like a couple of them are still sorting out the bugs and tuning.

For hot summer this is awesome mod.... If you ride in winter i would install a bypass valve or cover it To help maintain proper oil temps in freezing weather.....

Great write up...lmao on the "either way I can't read that shit"
I've installed this oil cooler a few days ago over a yuminashi bbk and it doesn't seem to get enough oil flow. The little radiator doesn't even get warmed up. I installed it the exact way as the OP. What could be wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found other pictures where the mount is flipped and the top head bolts are used. Im going to do this next and turn the head bolt 180 degrees
We discussed this over fb chat: i also had a comment about the bolt which might needed to be reversed: that is not the case. Found the guidelines on MotoX his fb pages..

When it comes in the package it has a piece of cardboard between the cooler and the expanded metal screen that protects it. Maybe slide a new piece of cardboard in there during winter and cover it like truck drivers do? :-D
does anyone know if there a way to input / output on the radiator? I would plug it into a 181 cc kitaco (there is an inlet and an outlet on the cylinder)

I installed mine on the top bolts and flipped the cam cover 180° had to trim the TB mount a little for the banjo clearance. I have a k&n filter mod w/ airbox delete. Braided lines have less slack this way. Also when oil cooler is installed with "instructions" with stock forks and 180lbs rider and up it comes really close to fender. Also I did not flip mount just top cover
Mine touch thé fender with thé normal mount....

Mine too. Removed it as it is not needed. Oil gets 110degr celcius on the dyno, without oil cooler
