Definitely, all over.Have you noticed any performance gains when doin this
pretty sure it is used for support for other things otherwise I would ditch itWhy keep the airbox?
Not to be a voice of doom but....
KN air filters are 95% efficient. A good regular air filter (paper) is 99% efficient. Thus the KN filter passes four times the dirt into your engine. Paper elements give almost perfect air filtration. The KN....not so much.
Also, KN filters are known for the oil fouling things like the MAF sensor downstream of the filter.
Again, not to be a bummer but....
Did you have a stock air box previous to this or were you running an air box mod? I currently have my air box modded and want to see if i should expect similar results after installing the k and n.Definitely, all over.
It really seems to wake it up all throughout the power range and you can really hear the motor a lot better...my brother thought I changed the exhaust, its that noticable.
As far as top end power, it has to help...its like running an open TB and I would imagine combined with exhaust it would really run well.
I know one guy said he was doing 66 mph flat ground, sitting up with the KN and an exhaust system.
Cruising today with a 13t and just the KN my bike was doing 70-71 which is probably 63-64 mph cruising speed with that gear i have in there.
Any documentation to support this? Not to be a voice of doom but....

I will look for some but I think if you read KN's specs youll find the 95% figure. The 99% figure for paper air filters is industry standard. Oiled foam is another story!Any documentation to support this?
Anyone know how much a new factory AF is?
The OM says its good for 10,000 miles...
