Did my first oil change today. Per the Service Manual, it's 600 miles *or* 30 days, whichever comes first. I hit 30 days before 600 miles.

As others had mentioned, there were bits of gasket gunk...but the oil looked clean.

Just a quick note, make sure when you're dropping the oil that you stand the bike straight upright when it appears you are about drained up, there is more oil trapped in the left side of the engine that should come out of there. To answer the question above, no, it is a full quart. My dipstick is right on the full mark.

First oil change tonight at 150mi. Some crap on the screen. Some gunk in the spinner. See photos.

I tore the crankcase gasket a bit, by accident. Still reused it. I'll replace it if it leaks later on, since the new gaskets are on order.

Ciao.

I did my 1st oil screen & centrifuge at 150 also. My screen looked like yours but had 2 or 3 larger metal pieces in it. The centrifuge was clean & there was 1 small slither came out with the oil.
I just had the 1st service done at 650 miles. All they did was adjust the valves. My exhaust valve was the only one needing adjusted. Changed the oil but didn't open it up to do the screen or centrifuge. The shop said it wasn't necessary till 2500 miles. So I'll do that at 1000 miles since they didn't do it. I'll post pics so we can compare notes.

I don't know if these were posted. Here are the Part Numbers for the gaskets recommended to be changed. I didn't change mine, but keeping a set ready in case I really need to. The prices listed is what my dealer is charging for them.

You can also Google those part numbers and order them online if you're not near a dealership.

Right Crankcase Cover Gasket
PN: 11394-KYZ-900

$6.05

Oil Spinner Gasket
PN: 15439-K26-901
